DCS: Roadmap (unofficial - NO DISCUSSION HERE)

Sorry man, confirmed by Uboats.

Hi SD,

I think you could misunderstand me or I didn’t state clearly.

Deka never stopped his volunteer projects.

But Cuban decided to stop all his projects since at that time, he joined Razbam. We have our own H-6G, while Cuban’s working on H-6D, so no conflict, since during discussion with him, we decided to equip different types of weapons for each variant. Since he stopped H-6D, and at that time, we didn’t see any restore of his H-6D in near future, and we don’t have resource to continue it based on his progress and status at that time, so we almost thought it would be a dead project. And we can only help finish your Pr. 205, since it’s already in good shape, and we only need to help finish the texture. Now, if Cuban wants to continue his projects, definitely no problem for us.

Deka welcomes all volunteers, and we don’t force them to start, pause or stop but only manage the quality control.

Thanks!

Add free campaign to the F/A-18C Caucasus planned (from F/A-18C Hornet 1989 video)

Here’s a small segment from a single mission I’m creating for the Hornet. It’s an interdiction strike in the Caucasus map. Should be coming soon.

A set of single missions for both the Caucasus and Persian Gulf Map are in-progress. Once these done, a free Hornet campaign for the Caucasus map is planned.

Add to Heatblur a new project from Ralfi´s Heatblur interview.

- A advanced jet with multicrew and ground radar.

Not just from Ralfis interview, but also from what Cobra himself posted on the forums here:

We're working on another complex jet which will make good use of our own technologies.

Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

From ED FB, Over Wing vapour effects and Humidity on the weather engine in progress. Match cone efect in plans.

https://www.facebook.com/eagle.dynamics/posts/10160623380315341

We are at the point now that we are quite happy with the vaps coming of the Hornet LEX. So, we are now shifting our effect focus to the over-wing vaps. These are less commonly seen than LEX and wingtip vaps, and only really happen in very humid conditions (particularly at low altitude near/over the water). Today we have a very early look at these. As with the LEX vaps, these will be tuned and improved.

As mentioned, humidity plays a huge factor in the generation of vaps coming off the aircraft… wingtips, LEX, over-wing, and even the Mach cone (yes, planned for later). To model this properly, our current efforts to improve the weather system of DCS World current lays with adding a new humidity function.

From ED Facebook, planeed new airbases and landmarks to Persian Gulf after Shiraz International Airport (330 nm to Al Dhafra) and Kerman International Airport (380 nm to Al Dhafra).

https://www.facebook.com/eagle.dynamics/posts/10160632113445341

As mentioned in yesterday’s Hornet video, we are adding two, new airbases to the Persian Gulf Map – Shiraz International Airport (330 nm to Al Dhafra) and Kerman International Airport (380 nm to Al Dhafra). Both airfields have military ramps and facilities.

With the addition of these two airfields, it makes the Persian Gulf map about the same size as the Caucasus map (measured as distance between airfields). Both new bases provide many parking locations to support large missions (large and small aircraft). We think having these two large bases far inland will provide many more mission possibilities for both single- and multi-player.

Today, we have a few work-in-progress images around Kerman International Airport.

Once these are complete, we plan to add additional airfields and landmarks across the map.

Autoupdate Update

Version 2.9.2:

- Report the actual HTTP download size when info is available.

The upper right number for HTTP downloads is the decompressed files size, which

is bigger than the true download size, because HTTP downloader is decompressing

on the fly. For new versions, the total HTTP download size for the operation will

be shown under the progress bar among the DL stats.

Version 2.9.1:

- Updated torrent library.

Version 2.9.0:

- Support for better compression.

- Fixed progress indication when downloading deltas.

- Fixed and sped up search for already downloaded files.

Domestic livestock, foot civilian traffic and air civilian traffic on develop

We always strive to improve DCS World and to make it feel more alive. We currently have auto-generated road and rail traffic, as well as ship traffic. We are also working to implement civilian foot traffic as well as civil air traffic. One new element that is nearing release is domestic livestock. While it may seem like a minor thing, it’s actually a very common feature in populated regions around the world. So, we bring you…. COWS!

Before you ask: no, such efforts do no take away from critical path developments (different staff), and yes, such updates are free.
