afcommguynv
I just downloaded the game from Steam and am having an issue. When I launch the game everything works fine and displays the page to select modules, options, etc. However, when I select to fly a mission, any mission, the Digital Combat Simulator screen with the version will come up on the screen but nothing ever loads. The program does not show as not responding nor am I anywhere close to exceeding my system resources. I am running it on a Razer Blade 2013 model w/ Geforce 650m updated drivers...even followed the suggestions on the sticky post...it seems to hang up at the very beginning and I never make it to the flight deck...any help is appreciated

On the Steam forum I created a trouble shooting check list that has proved handy. I suggest we do the same here. Below is what I have so far: If you are having issues running DCS World, we suggest running through the following check list: 1- Start DCS World by bypassing the DCS icon launching process: X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\Launcher .exe 2- Make sure you are running the game as Admin. 3- Make sure you are running a 64-bit Windows operating system with at least 6 GB of RAM 4- Delete the DCS Wold folder in your Users/Saved Games directory. Don't worry, the folder will be recreated when you next start the game. Note that this will reset your game option settings. 5- Turn off UAC. 6- Run Microsoft Viual C++ 2010 runtime install:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...F-9350143D5867 7- Run the latest DX9c Runtime Installer: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=35 8- Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. 9- If your are running PlayClaw 4, shut down that program. afcommguynv
Tried everything recommended. I am running 12 GB of RAM and have my latest graphics drivers. The game loads but when I select a training mission and launch it the Digital Combat Simulator square with the game version shows and stays on the screen. I never make it to the cockpit. Gloom Demon
Could it be that you should tick the Su-25T or any other aircraft installed in the module manager? Biggles07
Affcom, are you by any chance running a multiple monitor setup? If so, not having things configured properly in options>graphics (as well as DCS World>Config>Monitorsetup) can cause problems like hangs and freezes in my experience. Just a stab in the dark mate.....may not be the case. In case you are using Multiple Monitors, MadTommys excellent setup guide may help. Good luck. :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60815 Edited December 7, 2013 by Biggles07 1 ♫ ' Papa was a hairy mole.....Wherever he dug a den was his home ' ♫

Flamin_Squirrel
How long are you leaving it? It can take quite some time the first time you run it.
Biggles07
It wouldn't surprise me if Affcom can't actually find his post asking for help now (had trouble myself finding if he had the problem sorted). There doesn't seem to be any 'moved' indication for the OP in the main DCS World forum (unless I've missed it....possible), and you have to go through a couple of different links from there to find it (if you find the correct 'game crash' subforum that is.) 'Good luck' indeed. :music_whistling: :) I'll PM him. :) Edited December 8, 2013 by Biggles07 ♫ ' Papa was a hairy mole.....Wherever he dug a den was his home ' ♫
Deuce
I realize it's a lot of work but, after my experience with FC2 and multiple graphics driver updates glitching the interface; I've found it advantageous to make an image of a clean OS install and "reinstall" once things start glitching. Being this system is dedicated to only a few 'games' and all the important work is done on a separate system, this isn't an issue for me.
