Anti Aliasing Problem

Recommended Posts

After a fresh install of LOMAC 1.02, than 1.1 (with fresh patching to 1.11 also) and Cat 6.1 CCC I just can't get AA to work!

At first I could just ALT+TAB to desktop, turn AA Off and then turn it On again, ALT+TAB to LOMAC and it worked.

Now even that doesn't work anymore.

The game without AA is super ugly and I almost can't play it and it drives me nuts!

Is there a solution for this? AA works properly with every other game that I try, the problem accures only with LOMAC.

My rig:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice

DFI LANParty UT Ultra-D

Crucial Ballistix 512MB PC-4000 * 2

ATi Radeon X850XT PCI-E (Cat 6.1 CCC)

Seagate Barracude 160GB 7200RPM 8MB S-ATA NCQ

Enermax EG365P-VE

Samsung SyncMaster 710T

WinXP Pro SP2 + .NET

Excuse my grammer

I had the same prob. Try to alt+tab to windows, put it on, alt+tab to LO. If that won't work, and If you have ati card: check if you have more than one "control center". For example atis control center, and ati tray tool. From control center but all settings to "off". Use only tray tool (or whatever you got) for AA and AF settings. If those are "on" in both prog, confligt, and AA and AF stays off. Hope this helps, it sure worked for me.

Try disabeling the "Catalyst AI" Optimizer. I guess this optin is the problem.

Edit:

No it was not. I can change to Hgh AA ALT-Tab back to game. I have the Hi settings for about 5 seconds, then something switsches off AA automatically. I think it is ATI Tool. But I cant get AA to work properly anymore now.

I deleted ATiTool and now I can ALT+TAB an activate AA again.

It is still off when I lunch the game tho..

Which driver are you running? (I run 6.1 CCC)

I run the same, but I need ATI Tool for overcloking in 3D and underclocking in 2D usage....

Buy an nVidia

:D

Yeah, the 7800GT is the best bang for the buck at the moment. However, for absolute performance, ATI 1900XT (XTX) is king.

Seriously, just try to use the display driver only (without CCC), with ATI Tool or ATI Tray Tool. Also, get Catalyst 6.2. This seems to be better than 6.1. :)

There is 6.1/6.2 without CCC?

I don't seem to find it in ATi's site...

And my next video card will be R600/G80, no money for this stuff now:icon_toil

First click Windows XP Drivers and Software, then get the 11.7 MB Display Driver only here:

That is 6.2 without CCC.

New Cat 6.2 w/o CCC, but still no AA in Lock-On FC! Any one else with this problem or a solution.

And please, dont tell me to buy a new card! :p

How about using ATI Tray Tool to set AA, AF, etc. instead of ATI Tool? Would that help?

I dunno. I need Ati Tool for dynamic overclocking/underclocking and cooler-control.

I don't know about "dynamic", but ATI Tray Tool can overclock/underclock. It can also control fan speed based on GPU temperature. Hope this helps.
