danilop Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Is anyone using single, one touchscreen monitor setup for DCS? Looking at this as a potential single monitor for DCS (unfortunately, there are no 24"+ 1440p touchscreens on the market yet). I could expand on it, adding two non-touch 27" monitors for the periphery vision later.
GregP Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 FYI, I'm selling my my 27-inch touchscreen for half that price.

danilop Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Great stuff! Impressive. I'm looking for a simpler (and more compact) setup though I did a search for a simple single monitor touchscreen setup, but most threads are about complicated setup like 3 surround monitors+1 touchscreen dedicated to instruments), which I want to avoid ATM due to space restrictions. I don't see the reason why it wouldn't work. Just wanted to see if someone is already using single touchscreen monitor with DCS 3D cockpit and inbuilt windows 7 native touch support. Just wanted to see if someone is already using single touchscreen monitor with DCS 3D cockpit and inbuilt windows 7 native touch support. Of course, it should work just fine. But two things to consider: 1.) The touch screen driver should support left click, right click, mouse wheel, ... . I don't know if windows 7 native touch support can do it. If not you can use some script tools (e.g. autohotkey) to translate mouse gestures to left click, right click or mouse wheel... 2.) Regarding TrackIR: You have to hold your head steady while clicking in the 3D cockpit. But it's not that difficult and you get used to it. 1

Well, right click should be directly supported (press and hold) and I guess that via autohotkey one can do anything. I'm no stranger to scripting. Pausing TrackIR is easy and I have dedicated button on HOTAS for this purpose already. Thanks!
