It's quite a silly journey we've been on this last month or so. I'm glad you've got the chance to catch up on it after it's happened (or towards the end of it happening) rather than hanging on in anticipation.
Well, it served a purpose in that it took away the criticism from the RRG threads ("Where's my update?" changed into "Where's my announcement?"). ;)

I thought RRG had been doing pretty regular weekly updates through kickstarter?

I haven't really been following that project very closely, got annoyed with the low res pictures :p

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

I just gotta ask, if you've actually sorted out your issues within the team, what's up with almost every single YT film of your module still being set to private?

Surely you understand why that isn't exactly incredibly trust inspiring, or why it doesn't make sense? I can hardly imagine there being some complex bureaucratic process behind making YT films public.

Please just be patient, I am sure it will all be cleared up when they finally are able to make the public announcement, until then, you just need to hold on.

It's not the public announcement I'm talking about, just the YT films. What on Earth could possibly mean they can't make those public again?

If the structure of the team is changing, its possible those movies will need to move to another account, or need to be recreated, or any number of other things, if they are trying to wait till everything is in place or moved around, then that would explain why they are currently private... again... Patience....

Objection ... speculative reasoning (^,^)

It was an example of why we should wait for the announcement seeing as many dont seem to get that.... If you quote my full statement you will realize it was an example of a number of possible scenarios....

The account those videos were posted under is deprecated following the internal structural changes.

The MiG-21 is a completely different aircraft from the time of those videos. Almost every single line of code and every piece of artwork has been replaced or changed in some way.

They are not representative of anything anymore. This of course does not include the latest startup video that was posted.

We will be posting new videos soon.

Two quick things:

1) We've been on track and essentially "back to work as normal" for a significant amount of time now.

2) It's taking us a long time to make a statement / announcement because bureaucratic things need to be in order for that to take place. This does not take a trivial amount of time.

so bureaucratic things have been done?

Fair enough, just hoping it's soon, as opposed to Soon © ;)

The one thing that worries me about the Mig-21 is why put an announcement out stating that it will absolutely be released in the last week of March, then a week later say that the whole project could be shelved?

Even if the team is back on track, I would like to know if this 'absolute' release date still stands?

Well, from what I can gather, the project was never going to be shelved. Certain things probably happened internally that are unrelated to the continued development of the aircraft, which in turn caused the removal of the sub-forum.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
