Validating FC3 without CD

Hi there,

I bought the FC3 module for DCS a while back when I had an older computer. I own the original FC3 CD.

 

Since then, I have upgraded my PC and the new MOBO I bought came without IDE support for a CD drive. I have a CD drive sitting in my tower that does nothing.

 

Reinstalled DCS, thought about firing up FC3 and boom...it hit me :-( No CD, no FC3 verification to play the FC3 module.

 

What are my options? Any ideas anyone?

I have no idea about the validation for an old technology called 'CD' but you should contact Eagle Dynamics support.

If you've bought FC3 from them, you should be allowed to ask for a serial and activate your FC3 with that.

Check: digitalcombatsimulator.com > Person Section > My orders

(I still have my FC1.1b in there)

 

Just a guess though.

 

And ditch that obsolete 'CD' tech ;)

The original Lock On is not required anymore. And the serial should be enough to activate the FC3 module in DCS World.

Are you sure it doesn't require CD activation? There were 2 versions floating around. A cheaper upgrade version (mine) and the now full price module (no CD activation required).

You are confused somewhere. There has only ever been one version of FC3. Black Shark 2 is the only DCS product that has been offered in both an upgrade and full version.

 

The point is moot since, as mentioned, LockOn is no longer required.
