  1. One last thing. I am running the script and have the file in the hooks folder. I get the pope up that says that certain planes are blocked and some aren't but all are still flyable. I can still enter the client aircraft that are supposed to be blocked.

      Hi,

it may be that the setup you are currently using requires a small adjustment. Can you tell me which scripts you installed where in order to get selective (by faction) slot blocking to run? SSB should be in /Hooks, ssbClient should be inside your mission. And you MUST run the mission as server, or it won't work.

  2. Question about your modified SSB script. We run 4 servers off one machine and use the gui to run them. if i throw Ciribob script in the hooks folder is it gonna interfere with other servers? Alos what happens to client aircraft that are being piloted if the base they took off from are captured?

Thank you for your message. SSB is only working on the server instance that is loading that /Hooks folder. It does not influence other servers, not even those that share the same /Hooks folders. All it does is control access to slots for the mission that runs in the mission instance on that server. SSB has no known side-effects on other servers, and (AFAIK) also comfortably coexists with 'slotblock.lua' used in the "Foothold" series.

Please be aware of an important distinction that I probably have not made clear enough. ssbClient is not a modified SSB script, it's a separate script that is meant to be run inside a mission, and that interfaces with (i.e. requires) SSB running on the server. So to work, you need to install both: SSB in /Hooks, and ssbClient inside the mission that uses it

So what happens to client aircraft whose originating base is being captured? Currently, the players find themselves booted from their aircraft. Depending on which version of ssbClient you are using (stand-alone or DML) there might be slight differences, but an overhaul of this somewhat silly behavior is only planned for the DML version

  3. Thanks for the heads up about the link., Not sure why it stopped working but a new one has been updated in its place.

  4. Hey Pikey. I started our warbirds from the ground up about a year ago in our discord group. We fly US time zones. What I have been building for our community has been a PvE/PvP community. I built out and maintain our Normandy mission while another member has built and maintains our channel mission. Both servers run 24/7. Each mission has a lot of objectives to tackle and can be done by yourself or with a group. We have built maps that are truly dynamic in the sense that AI fighters may never be in the same place twice so you never know if you will get jumped when targeting ground units, etc. Our maps have bombers, boats, train stations, armor, ,etc for ground targets. AI planes are present but not overwhelming so you can enjoy and this way when the server gets busy with actual players, there is still stuff to do if you want to stay away from other people. We often get together and fly missions. Example, we get together in discord or SRS and say we are going to go after the ships, or an airfield, or armor,, etc. We coordinate as a group and hit the objective. Sometimes we have random people in the server that will be flying around and may try to intercept us or maybe a dicord member wants to fly against the group. It works out well.

I also host missions every Friday night 730pm central US time. These missions are usually PvE (sometimes PvP - but mostly PvE) in which I design a mission that has an overall objective. Some of these missions are ground attack heavy, some are A2A heavy , and some are a mix ob both A2A and A2G. Feel free to check it out. Always looking for more warbird players. When I started this it was just me and then I got a couple of our jet guys  to fly and have slowly built this up to the point where we have multiple maps and have had upwards of 15 people flying warbird mission nights. Average has been around 8 lately. https://discord.gg/vfDs2YJBg6

I joined Discord. I'm not sure how successful I will be at joining your times, but its the weekend so assuming I've replaced coffee with alchohol I should make a few.

I'll join in the chat as "Pikey" and my DIscord is Mike since thats my name 😉
