It may be so, but it's a far, far stretch and not quite a distance for someone without scope. You also need to think about wind and the bullet trajectory, especially if that guy you're trying to take out with iron sights at 300m is running around. For an unscoped rifle, in my oppinion, 100-150m is the optimum distance. Anything further then that is pushing it. Again, if we're talking combat conditions. If we're talking static ciggarete packs, well, that's a completely different ballgame.

I play ArmA once in a while but I gotta say, the feeling of firearms suck. I also play Red Orchestra and in that game, you can trully "feel" the power of Kar98 or MP40 or MG42. In ArmA there is no real iron sights fatigue (when aiming for too long) and the weapons are just..meh... It is quite addictive if you're into hard core millitary shooters..but RO has a lot more juice in it, IMO.

It started years ago. I can't even remmember how I came into a posession of Lockon: Modern Air Combat, but once I started playing it, it became quite an experience. An adventure. More then a game. A habbit. A passion. It was pretty buggy, framerates were poor, it used to crash a lot. Quite often I would find myself quitting the whole thing. But then, after I'd cool down, I'd go back to it. And this was before I discovered the other side of the coin which is something even more interesting: people. Community. A fammily. Some would call us bunch of simmer geeks, some would call us just..geeks. Some would say I'm being too sentimental right now. Maybe I am, but, why not? Here we are. After years have passed, we're still here talking about it, forums more crowded then ever. Every day new people sign in. For a sim, this is a tremendous success. Are we all aware of this? We used to compare, (and still do) Lockon with Falcon 4.0, which one is better in this or that. There's no point doing it. We have two giants, still marching the road. And they still are, more appealing then ever. Attracting new people into community. The story goes like this: "In the begining, there was a programmer geek. And he said: Let it be the sim! Soon after, few other geeks joined in. The rest, is history." (bows to the crowd) :D

I agree! It would be so nice to have a story about ED! They're keeping to themselves too much, quite a low profile bunch of guys!:)

Actually, polish MiG-29 pilots did the same with R27. Germans were like "Wtf?" when they were told about this. :thumbup:

You need the source code in order to make any changes to flight model and that's not gonna happen, at least not in the near future. ;)

Saw the Su-27 documentary. Nothing special IMO. Would rather preferr to see some combat action stuff. Something simmilar to that russian Su-25 documentary.

Oh man..imagine VOIP, a flight get scattered in the mountains and comms go down..wow..switch different channels..wow..but I really doubt we'll be having anything like that in the near future.

The error may be in the mission (file) itself or you were messing around with the files and accidentally deleted some of them.

HUD should be at eyes level, in front of you. I believe the camera in video was mounted on the helmet.

Wow! Great video! I must say that video looked almost as realistic as Lomac! The HUD colors were a bit mess, you could tell it wasn't actually Lockon.
