  1. Thanks for the reply. Ugh...yeah, I was kind of afraid (and half expecting) to hear that answer. I do realize that DCS has never been easy on hardware, and it seems to be more demanding with each update. A new computer is not in my budget at the moment, so I fear I'll have to make do. Too bad, it would've been nice to get some of the newest modules. Of course, I can still be happily parted from my money if any improvements in this area are forthcoming from the devs (cough...cough)...
  2. Hi all. With stable 2.5.6 and 2.5.5 I've been having issues with mission loading times (from the main menu) becoming successively longer each time, rather than shorter, even during the same session. Sometimes, on the second or sometimes third load, it just hangs for so long that I need to manually close the program via task manager. Could anyone who might have had the same issues suggest any fixes, or can any developer chime in on whether this is a known problem that might be addressed in future versions? To be fair, my computer specs aren't great: Dell G3 15 Laptop (Intel Core i5-9300H/8GB RAM/1TB HD /Windows 10/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050) But again, despite my crappy computer, the first load tends to be successful and performance isn't too bad (even on medium textures) once I'm actually in the game. It's when I quit a mission and either re-start the same one, or a new one, where the loadings become problematic. And for the record, I've deleted all the shader folders, set DCS to high CPU priority, both updated and rolled-back my NVIDIA drivers, disabled hotplug devices, played around with detail settings incl. pre-load radius, and also tried out the latest open beta (which is far worse...this barely loads even on the first try). Thanks!
