    Thanks for the reply! Yeah I do love my 2500k and it has served me well thus far. I think more than DCS, it's X-Plane 10/11 that is really pushing me to upgrade my CPU. But I've read such great things about the new skylake CPUs that I think I've already made up my mind ;)

     

    If I can afford a 1070 or 1080 that would be icing on the cake.

    It would be waaaaay better to add any kind of ambient occlusion for the lighting system, that would REALLY be an improvement.

     

    I'd love some solid ambient occlusion. I personally think that is the very best way to make 3d objects look like they belong in a scene. I render a lot of 3d stuff for work, and I always hate my test renders before I do the ambient occlusion pass.

     

    Also, is DCS getting "PBR" with all these engine updates?

     

    Can't wait for 2.5!

    I'm just saying that I would like just a bit more information about the module that is out, that I have paid for, and is still in an Early Access state.

     

    Just one of many reasons I don't buy early access games/modules from any developer I don't already know or trust. Why take the chance? Wait till release, or AT LEAST a feature complete product, before you decide if it's worth it or not. :thumbup:

    So are people complaining that gps doesn't fit in combat aircraft? I'm really confused here..

     

    I have seen plenty of su25's with garmin devices.

     

    More things being added to this game should always be welcomed.

    I wasn't being belittling, I was sharing my experience the same as the pilot did to you Zimmerdylan.

     

    No two pilots in the same squadron do everything the same, I see that in person every day.

     

    Sorry if you took it the wrong way, but I have over 10 years maintenance experience on the A-10 (a and c models) and am in the middle of a deployment right now. Google turkey and a-10s.

     

    Lastly, Did you even read the entire original post? I confirmed and agreed with a lot of what your wrote.

     

     

     

    Snoopy, I just love that people who work around the real life aircraft, appreciate DCS for it's fidelity and depth. Have you ever shown any of your squad members the sim? What have they said about it?

    I don't think it's very unreasonable that two RW pilots have different experiences with the plane. I find both dylan's student and Snoopy's information extremely interesting. I bet you couldn't get two airline pilots that fly the same plane to behave identical either when it comes to start procedures, etc.

     

    I didn't get that Snoopy was belittling though, just that he said his references differed from yours. You both should be glad you even have references like you do, I'd kill for a conversation with a real A-10 pilot any day. ;)

    I sometimes get black square flickering in the right eye, but that might be me pressing keyboard or mouse buttons (it's very easy to switch to windows of another app when oculus is in direct mode).

     

     

    That's not just you. I also have a black flickering in just the right side of the Rift. I also thought it was a browser or some other window I had open when I started DCS, but even after closing everything I get it.

    Or Joining can only be done while the canopy is open and the plane is on the ground. If a pilot gets in and shuts the canopy, the "lock" could be active at that point. Or a simple request would work also, but it would be cool if you had to land to "pick someone up." Makes me think about first person players if that's ever a thing! You'd actually have to walk over to the plane to get in... oh the possibilities.

     

    P.S. Is shared cockpit currently implemented? I just saw a youtube video showing that it was...

    I'm so looking forward to 3.1 been released and an end to the high crash rate.

     

    It's not "3.1" It's just Update 3. Wags started a new sentence after 3 so it looks like 3.1. Just to end the confusion which will surely come from this. :music_whistling:
