  1. Hey,

     

    I was flying mission 3 of the coup d'état campaign three times today. Every time I engaged the C-130 with rockets (in TOT salvo mode) my Magics came off as well. I tried it in the mission editor afterwards (simple loadout with only magics and rocket pods) and got the same behavior. I suppose this is a bug? I've attached a very simple track file demonstrating the issue.

  2. My complaint is basically that they decided to make the dogfighter version without emergency power, so it's engine AND turn performance is miles behind the Spit but still market it as a great opponent against the Spitfire.

    This. It's just a bit disappointing when most reports say the Spit and the Anton were very evenly matched and it was marketed as such. Of course I've never flown one but from what you can read up on the planes I expected the Anton to just be overall "better".

  3. I really dig the Anton but my main gripe right now is that you almost cannot do anything with it. There are next to no single player missions, no campaign and all the other fighters eat you for breakfast. I don't really know how you would go about developing missions for it either because the allied AI fighter planes we have in the sim right now simply murder you.

     

     

     

    So fantastic plane, cockpit and flight model and really fun to fly but it's supposed to be a fighter and in that role it's not usable right now.

  4. The damage model for high power radials was planned as new for DCS (P-47 and 190A), so we could not complete it because it requires a lot of checks, tests , etc not to release it with unexpected failures.

    Another reason is that the whole concept of engine reliability is being changed now - some restriction will be weakened but there are some new restrictions ,especially for radials handling, that will make your flights not so careless.

    Made a testflight with the "now out of EA" Anton.

     

     

    Testconditions:

     

    40°C OAT

    No Wind

    Severe sunshine

     

     

    50minutes full throttle (4*Left CTRL+Y)

    Prop gov manual

    Fine pitch

    Cowling flaps fully closed

     

    -> Engine RPM 3500rpm and above

    -> Oil temperature: 100°C++

    -> ATA went once, for a minute or so, to 1,8

     

     

    -->Nothing happens

     

    Is this supposed to be that way?

    Yep that's what I did, too with the same results. Had a look at the manual and it says what's to be expected: to not exceed 3 minutes at 1.42 ATA etc ... So I guess the answer is no - I'm puzzled what made them declare this module "out of early access" at this point.

  6. I just did a number of tests with different temperatures and altitudes but even with the latest update it still seems impossible to overstress the engine. I must say I find that somewhat irritating now that the module is officially out of early access ... this is such an essential feature for a WWII bird. Is the engine damage model supposed to be implemented along with the new damage model? Does anyone have any info?

  7. Hey everyone,

     

    I just flew mission 04 (the first night mission) of the campaign. After the attack by Monster 01 on the SAM sites, the group of 4 MiG-29A turned hot so I engaged them. However after closing in to about 20nm they just vanished (to my great surprise). Looking at the Tacview recording it just says "MiG-29A has been destroyed" 4 times in 2 second intervals. I didn't get receive any radio messages regarding this so this seems a little strange. It seems to have happened in Tricker's playthrough too (see his YouTube channel). Looks like a bug to me.

     

    Absolutely magnificient campaign otherwise :-)

  8. Hello,

     

    I'm having problems on mission 3 of the Deployment campaign (Stronghold). Shortly after I arrive at waypoint 2 and begin moving towards WP 3 the graphics freeze but sound does not. It is perfectly reproducable on my side.

    The crash isn't always the same. Today I had the system report that the graphics driver isn't being executed properly, yesterday it just froze and I had to kill BS.

     

    I am patched to 1.02 and don't have any mods installed. I am running WinXP 32 on a C2D 8500 with 3GB mem and an ATI 4850. I have attached the crashes from today and yesterday (since the faults seemed to originate from different DLLs) and the DxDiag info.

     

    I realize that this could be anything but it only happens to me in BS and so far only in that specific mission. Otherwise my system is completely stable. Would be cool if someone had any info on this. I can provide any info you may still need :).
