thank you for your help :) I've tried all you suggested - it looks like I don't get assigned to a plane - no cockpit view and no plane with my name near it when I cycle trough. I did not change anything after the installation - just plugged my stick of joy and gave it a go - and it did not work. :(

Guys I've described my problem precisely - I've installed the game - and I can't even do a quick mission. It always starts in a free cam mode. Anyone? Please?:(

and how can I start it normally?

more info When I launch a mission (any mission - campaign, quick start, or a selected mission), the game start with a pause screen with some aircraft being displayed from an outside perspective. I hit the pause button to start and all i can do is just watch some demo/ or a prerecorded mission flied by the PC. I can play with the camera and select different items to watch but that's it.

it seems that the game stuck in RCVR mode - how do I actually get to fly the thing?:(
