It's great to be recognized for hard work and dedication to helping the community of people who love DCS simulation. But everything that is done in this sense is time consumed with the best of intentions and deserves a good contribution. //www.patreon.com/chucksguides

Thank you very much for your hard work and extremely helpful contribution. Without your guides I wouldn't be able to fly the number of planes I have. ( Almost all) All the best Chuck

Trackir disconnecting in DCS
JetBLASTER replied to bernp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have never used SSDP because of this. Why is it a risk? Certain SSDP devices have a UPnP bug that allows an attacker to send an SSDP command of the form “Send a report to xxxxx.” An attack can be mounted against a victim by sending requests to MANY SSDP servers, forming a “bot-net,” replacing xxxxx with the victim’s network address. The resulting flood of reports can overload the victim’s computer. This type of attack is called a Distributed Denial Of Service (DDoS) attack. A DDoS attack is especially effective if the size of the report generated is bigger than the size of the command that produces the report. -
Trackir disconnecting in DCS
JetBLASTER replied to bernp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I don't have any problems with Throttle or any other program, just Trackir. I turned off the Firewall and it solved the problem and it has been working for two months without any problems. I turned it back on again and the problem started again. If you unblock the trackir in the firewall you might solve the problem. Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Defender Firewall\Allowed apps. Below there is an option to Allow another app... and look for the Trackir file and allow it to be allowed through the firewall. DCS is already automatically allowed, check if it is allowed in your firewall if it is not, just add DCS. -
Trackir disconnecting in DCS
JetBLASTER replied to bernp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My trackir 5 stopped working after almost 10 years of use. I tried everything and couldn't find anything that made it work. After a lot of work, I decided to check my antivirus, firewall, windows defender. I discovered that the Firewall on Windows 10 interfered with many applications. I turned off the Firewall and the trackir didn't give me any more problems. -

It's all ok now. Thank you Guzzo

Thanks Bunny Clark. You're right . I have everything sorted on that subject. I made all this mess when i binded some keys on my joystick and now everything is working correctly.

Thank you very much Ziptie. I made all this mess when i binded some keys on my joystick and now everything is working correctly. Definitely RWR needs to be turned on and I paid no attention. Chuck's guide helps me a lot and I am very grateful for that.
-
Sorry rob9 you were right, i found 3 conflict on my joystick when i binded some keys and this was causing all this confusion. Now everything is working correctly. I always have to turn on the RWR, I don't know why in the manuals that I appreciate a lot I never noticed it. Thank you one more time.
-
Hi rob10 I just checked and the RWR was on. I found out that if the IR COOL ORIDE that is the button directly on the right side of the right DDI has to be up. Right after I switched from bottom to top the HUD symbol appeared on the EW page on OSB 9. Thank you very much for your help and suggestion. I don't know if that will interfere with anything later on but I will see what will happen.
-
Tank you I will see if this is what happening
-
Thank you Clean. I know, what I'm referring to is, following the CHUCK manual where in the right DDI, which is EW, there must be a HUD indication in OSB 9 and that doesn't happen
-
What bothers me is that if I use AGM-88 C Harm on SP Mode or TOO mode it is the same thing, the HUD does not appear on the right DDI EW page
-
I've been looking to resolve this for a long time, even after following all sequences strictly
-
Yes, I know this is exactly what I'm talking about. on the EW page the HUD doesn't appear, I don't know why
