[Training missions hosed after patching to 1.02?]

This is an existing issue with the engine and is also present in Flaming Cliffs which is why they went to recorded videos in FC2. The recorded track files are specific to the version they were recorded on and will not work correctly in the later versions.

 

The good news is that I believe Matt has said that there will be an entirely new training module in DCS A-10C.

 

This doesn't help me at the moment. lol I didn't want to learn A-10, I wanted to learn the Black Shark.

Okay why is it that the entire training section gets hosed when patching to 1.02? Is there a fix for this yet?

 

It seems every time I overcome one problem with this sim, I find another issue. lol

 

It says Unpatch the game to access the training missions? I think that's quite unacceptable.

 

Should a patch ruin game content like that?

LOMAC and FC2 are separate products, but LOMAC must be installed in order for FC2 to be installed. After installation of both, you may delete LOMAC, but you would need to reinstall LOMAC if you need to reinstall FC2.

 

LOMAC offers very little that FC2 does not already have. IMO no need to sim in LOMAC instead of FC2.

 

Well that's how I see it too, but aren't the missions and campaigns in both completely different, since FC2 models Georgia, and replaced the LOMAC campaign area altogether?

I just run LOMAC FC2 icon, there's no point in running regular old LOMAC with it.

Same here, although only on single player. Running as admin did the trick.

 

I don't use mods to answer the other reply. I thought I was running it as Admin too. I guess I'll reinstall a 3rd time and try it again. lol

ok do you get the splash screen? and the menu come up? Does it give you any kind of error and if so if you could screenshot the error or type out what it says that could help.

 

Yeah it gives me the menu screen, but errors out when I click stuff like missions or options, etc.

 

[Screen capture in FC2?]

Ok Print Screen/Sys Rq key worked fine before in LOMAC 1.01, but since I upgraded to LOMAC Platinum, now that key isn't working to capture images.

Ok I've read through the messages here, and I have to admit, I'm disappointed that there's nothing to truly address this patch fiasco yet.

 

I have DCS Blackshark installed from the DVD, which I'm guessing is v1.0 English.

 

I downloaded the English 1.02 patch, and all it does it break the damn game.

 

I uninstalled the patch thro the patch uninstaller, and my v1.0 seems to work just fine that way, but then I tried again to re-install 1.02, and it did the same thing it did before, it broke the game.

 

I can't access options, or other features, it just gives me an error with 1.02 installed.

 

What kind of patch is this? Is there any sure fire fix for this nonsense, or word of a patch for the patch?

 

I'd like to try Blackshark vs LOMAC Platinum, but at this rate I don't see how it's possible, or if it ever will be.

 

I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit, and LOMAC Platinum works fine. I also noticed the others who are having the most trouble with this version are running 64-bit versions of Vista or Win7.

 

Can someone please post any work-around or step by step process to install this thing. Am I missing something? It can't be this hard.
