  1. Is this something ED is considering (separating one of this big chunks - either FM or AI) in a separate thread?

Is it something impossible / very difficult / difficult to achieve?

Because CPU remains the bottleneck for DCS.

All software developers considers how multithreading can improve performance. The likely problem is that DCS is an old engine that have been incrementaly updated through Lockon, BS and now A10-C. If it wasnt designed to seperate physics, from ai, from game logic so it could run concurently then it might require a big redesign.

  2. We like to move on so quickly... dont we?... for example we start polling for the next aircraft right after the new one is released...

IMHO at first i would rather become an ACE on A10C than polling for a new model all together... I have also done it, i have also started similar poles... but i feel its not Justified for the Hardwork DCS puts in one thing and the game itself...

its a good idea of working on the Maps now... i think DCS should give simulations a break cause they have already achieved something really marvelous... let it seep into our viens for a while... and start designing Campaigns based on true/hypothetical events...

So next time we would be buying complete campaigns rather than buying a whole new aircraft... or they can keep both things going in parallel well thats upto them... Beggers cant be choosers...

Just because new aircrafts is being talked about dont mean people dont enjoy A-10C. I still play BS even though A10 is out. The BS experience is very different from A10 and A10 will again be very different from the next fighter they will do. They dont exclude each other but rather complement.

  3. Me to. The slew stick works fine in the A10 but if i try and use it in BS its way to sensitive. Thats with saturation at 10 and variying curvatures.

If i lower saturation below 10 it simply stop responding. Problem solved though by mapping the slew to the colie hat instead. Since the BS dont have alot of keys to really map to the joystick its not a problem. But would be nice if the ministick had worked instead like it do in the A10.

  4. Hallo.

How do i make buttons so they work with switches?

I.e. in blackshark i can put a switch to say the master arm switch. It works fine if i switch it on, but when i switch it off again it dont work, it will first switch off when i switch it on again.

    A bit hard to explain.

I havent looked at the TARGET software yet since i have no clue how to work it. But someone said that A10C will work for the TM Warthog even without the target software. I guess that means also the switches and hats which have 2 or 3 positions. But cant i get same effect in blackshark?

It would be nice if i could map a switch to a ingame switch, so it would be in either OFF or ON position according to the button on the stick.

  5. Hallo

What will actualy be possible with LUA scripting in A10C? Ive seen you can run scripts from the mission edtior on certain conditions etc. but i cant find anything about what hooks and function calls can be used?

Is there some documentation or can someone point me to some files?

  6. To center your SOI press China hat backward short.

To set slave your SOI to your SPI its China hat forward long.

To set SOI to be SPI its TMS forward long.

To set SPI to steerpoint its TMS backward long.

Thats from the top of my head. Someone feel free to correct me.

  7. You cannot delete a markpoint. They simply increment and roll over when you have expended them all.

Here is a track on how to create some mark points and then assign them to a new flight plan and load them in that flight plan as waypoints and then delete those waypoints and load them back in a few times.

Markpoints are just for quick reference or storage. If you want to really save them for later or be able to manipulate them create a flightplan and you can add them as waypoints. In the track i create a flightplan called TGT and then add mark A and B and then Delete A and then add it again etc.

When you reach Mark Z or so it will roll over back into Mark A and continue from there. So if you mark wrong, ajust your target and mark again to a new letter.

  8. I uploaded a track of how i do it.

Notice i make sure TGP is SOI before i mark i make the TGP target point SPI(TMS UP Long) then i mark using (TMS Right Short)

Then i put the knob as you do to MARK on the CDU and i can now cycle my mark A and B. Then china hat forward long i think it is to slave the TGP as the SOI to the mark point you have selected.

  9. I just bought mine from simware. Its a bit expensive. Eneded up in a total of 440€ EUR with shipping. But oh well. Both DCS BS and A10C will be much much better with a really good HOTAS.

Right now im playing them with a 8 button joytstick with a small throttle wheel on it. It was "ok" sort of in BS because i could engange from a hover etc. But in A10C i have to do so much with the keybord it just gets impossible since i have to remove my hands from the joystick.

I will finaly be able to play the BS campagin :D

  10. Atleast Wags said they would provide some kind of updater.

Else by the time the game is released with a new beta out every two weeks all your activations will have gone. Equal all beta testers would have to email starforce for a new key.

But oh well i knew it was starforce enabled when i bought it so guess ill have to live with the hazzel.
