  1. i wanted to edit my post and man 5 posts in 20s :D . i wanted to say that even if they aren't considered by most as necessary , it's very probable that the F-22 get their baptism of fire in Libya
  2. saturday attacks debriefing http://www.defense.gov/Transcripts/Transcript.aspx?TranscriptID=4786 concerning the F-15 which has crashed , seems two pilots are safe but second pilot recovery would have been pretty "lively" . an US helicopter would have shot on locals . knowing there are some pro-Gaddafi melt with the population in the area , it's not impossible the helo crew panicked . whatever no deads reported only injured (for now)
  3. more not sleeping but it won't last long
  4. short summary of forces participating (it's late i'll finish tomorrow) french forces engaged on saturday St dizier airbase on saturday loading AASM on a Rafale on saturday (probably sunday morning) B-2 @ Whiteman (returning from sunday morning run) 8 rafales and 6 super-etendards take off from Landvisiau to rejoin CDG carrier on sunday
  5. allied strike between Benghazi and Aldabyia (sunday) B-2 returning home (Whiteman) after its sunday mission (a 25hours flight) . it dropped 45 bombs RAF VC10 of Brize Norton in support of SEAD GR4 saturday to sunday night Tobrouk dream team
  6. among B-2 targets there was Al watyah airbase , not sure about the weapon used GR4 strike (Khaddafi T-72) @Topol : american carriers (not amphibious) headed all to A-stan . US planes as far as i know take off from Italy . which base exactly , can't tell as seems they use several bases (Sigonella ...)
  7. ready for duty : France +20 Land based Rafale fighters +12 Rafale Ms on DeGaulle = 32 Rafales USA 42 F-16s, 3 B-2s, 30 F-15s, 5 Harrier AV-8Bs (USS Kearsarge) UK +18 Tornados & Typhoons Canada 6 CF-18s Italy 4 Tornados & 4 Typhoons = 8 Denmark 6 F-16s (Sicily airbase) Norway 6 F-16s Belgium 8 F-16s ( @ Greek airbases) Spain 4 F-18s Greece 4 F-16s Qatar 4 Dassault Mirage 2000s UAE 6 F-16E/F Desert Falcons recently : saturday : Rafales and Mirages 2000 attacked a column near Benghazi with AASM seems 7 vehicles were destroyed Sunday dawn : 19 US planes including B-2 , F-16 , F-15 and 1 harrier attacked airbases and their aerial defences . seems B-2 target was a huge base . also 112 tomawack were fired from UK/US ships/subs saturday to sunday night : UK Tornado attacked SAM sites mainly around Tripoli . also some Tornado GR4 were reported to have attacked several targets between saturday and sunday with Stormshadow , after a 4800 km flight from UK dozen of tanks shells have been spotted on the road from Benghazi to Ajdabiah (Reuters) tomorrow coalition is expected to attack Khaddafi army's supply lines
  8. amazing but what would it be if some sell the guns to the bad guys
  9. CDG left Toulon at around 15PM (GMT+1) , will be on zone within 30h very interesting about Germany position http://bruxelles.blogs.liberation.fr/coulisses/2011/03/libye-lhonneur-perdu-dangela-merkel.html (pure politics but shows something important , it's that Merkel decision isn't by far an all german decision) Amir Moussa from the arab coalition critiziced today some of the strikes which may have made colateral damages saying coalition is getting out the task it was ordered . but seems that Mr Moussa forgot that Khaddafi tanks were entering Benghazi after UN resolution was voted exactly so that colateral damages could happen . however images taken of insurgents in Benghazi today and yesterday show very happy people . about UN resolution it allows such strikes until they are made to protect civilians from immediate threat . on Kusch pics we see clearly artillery in order to pound the city and around the web there are pics of Khaddafi tanks destroyed inside Benghazi too . i think coalition will put the ratio force between Khaddafi and the insurgents a bit like before the planes began their bombing then we'll go home probably AASM
  10. -maritime blocade around Lybia is effective -first engagement from a french plane against an armor (seems the vehicle has been destroyed) -Qatar will join the allied -Germany won't participate but increases its participation in Afghanistan to relieve allied effort
  11. they were Rafales Reco-NG . actually there are around 20 french planes more or less around Lybia and they are free to engage if K. enforce UN resolution . strikes against armor that could represent immediate threat to civilian are conceivable equally . on TV they were showing danish F-18 preparing in Italy too . CDG is expected to leave Toulon tomorrow .
  12. Khadafi forces (from Global Sec.) : navy : insignifiant , only possible threats would have been the 2 subs , and seems their base is Benghazi airforce : whatever the force is , it needs airfields and Khadafi options seems very limited Khadafi's Lybia has around 200 SA-6,SA-5,SA-3 and (very?) few SA-2 . all these systems are less or more efficient but all are vulnerable against western anti-radar weapons as to hunt they have to "show the ears" army : talking only regarding the establishment of an exclusion force : SA -7/9/13 : around 400 but not a major threat heavy tanks : around 1000 but i highly doubt that without any air covering any tank launch any assault , same for the short range SAM ..? so finally only real threat are airforce medium range SAM but once Khadafi airfields will be out of service , these SAM will remain very vulnerable to a rebel or an arab coalition ground attack and can be neutralized by a good radar coverage
  13. are you sure that stopping now everything is the best solution to stop bloodshed (you should reread Sticky's post)
  14. yes but said on an irritated tone , that won't convince me for sure :smilewink: . talking about that lot of answers that i'm getting are given on an irritated tone , and i'm just asking for being convinced
  15. you have links . cause i'm asking for only one thing i want to believe into nuclear energy . 1g of uranium equals 1t of oil i mean ok , wonderful . but in all others industries when you get an incident you're sure to recover back the situation again , which is not the case with nuclear industry . how many times did i heard these recent days the word "out/loss of control" (and that word has already been used by a some Gorbatchev) . i just want to ask few questions , so if there are nuclear experts out there maybe they can take 5 minutes and answer to me : - how can you be sure a 200 000 years life waste will keep secure during such tremendous period - when you have used fuel rods then you need to cold them during two years , i ask is that really reasonable , it's supposed to serve us and that put us into slavery -how can you say a technology is good for humanity when lot of high level experts approve the fact that with nuclear , there are reasonable chances that in case of an incident the situation can go out of control concerning Germany reaction i personnally think it was a clever decision , decision of coming out from nuclear energy can't be done because of economical considerations , because yes nuclear energy is by far the more powerful and the most profitable energy right now but it's also because of economical decisions that some countries pay their workers 10 cents per hour and make them work 16h per day and get richer than others who respect human being . on an economical level nuclear is by far the best solution right now but just answer my questions , and i'll say yes i approve . i don't say we must end nuclear tomorrow , i say we should adopt a clear behaviour to end with that energy . to be short we should plan the shut down of all plants over the shorter period possible , and put Man before economy . i heard some talking of a coming back to rurality , lol , old hebrews which some of them made the bible and 1789 men who made the human rights where farmers/shepherds so i think it wouldn't be the worst thing that can happen to us . if in 1789 they had started considerating the economical consequences of what they were doing they weren't out of the woods @Ethereal : you say one needs university explanations to admit he was wrong , that's maybe the problem with nuclear , things are a bit too complicated , a bit like economy these later times too , but well it's another story
  16. yes , and below there's a clip of Hachi movie . it makes me think that the japanese really , really doesn't deserve what's happening to them
  17. @Ethereal : i thought my precedent post put a final point to the discussion . whatever you say you won't convince me that 200 000 waste is good for humanity . from now on if you want to continue that discussion let's do it by MP . concerning situation in Japan yes i admit some infos may be more alarmist than they really are
  18. fine . why don't you take a ticket to Japan and go help the people out there inside the plant . then i would like to have your feedbacks about nuclear industry . EthearealN , you're right on one point my comments may be fearmonging but the fact is i don't like nuclear industry . and i consider that that technology is an extremely hasardous one (i don't come back over the 200 000 years waste) , and that has not been said enough . my last wish is to increase Japan trauma and for that reason since few posts i'm more ponderate in my interventions . @Ethereal,winz and topol : to be short , if you're trying to defend nuclear industry , i disapprove , if you're trying not to add to japanese trauma i'm with you . i canno't know but well , i said what i had to say about nuclear industry , point .
  19. I wanted to say that if there are some japanese out here that have no choices than to flee away , i can host a person . i live in south-ouest of France in a peaceful rural zone . you won't have the rent to pay but you'll have to participate a bit for electricity and water
  20. yes , in the case you take back the control over the situation . but right now the industry you seems to like has a factory of toxic radioactivity running at Fukushima and for now none has found the shut down button . that's all the problem with radioactivity you can have the control over the elements then you're absolutly right , but you can also loose the control of the situation , then none statistic is viable anymore . personnally i prefer to make some restrictions over my electricity consumption for some time than putting my life in danger
  21. France is 1000x800 km size , what will it be if such disaster happens , where will we go . i know french plants are sure , Fukushima was sure too , and the weather being more and more unstable and extreme i don't have much confidence you see .
