Personaly, I don't think is their sofware. As i have experince many times problems updating firmwares on game controlers, phones, 3d printer, ect. And all depending on the usb port that i use.

Usb hubs for flashing Motherboards Bios, Phone flashing and some long list of electronics is A Big NO. Not even the front ports on a computers, avoid problems and use back usb ports. And before i forget , usb adon carts too
