Hello all you knowledgeable. I have DCS installed on a computer that has been offline quite some time (we are talking about two months, maybe longer). Now I'm putting it up and running again and I'm having a problem that I haven't had before.
In Windows 10, clicking Start Menu > Eagle Dynamics > DCS World produces the following:
(The text in Finnish means "the defined file not found". Sure enough, the file doesn't exist.)
However, in Windows 10 File Manager, double-clicking the G:\DCS World\Run.exe, the game appears to start normally (I haven't tried the simulation so far). The bottom right corner shows the version number 2.5.5.41371.
In Windows 10, clicking Main Menu > Eagle Dynamics > Update DCS World produces the following:
In Windows 10, clicking Main Menu > Eagle Dynamics > Repair DCS World starts an operation that would apparently want to download some 80 Gigabytes of data, no explanation, no questions asked - not my preferred option, obviously.
Now my questions are:
what is likely the problem that prevents me starting DCS from Windows main menu?
is my copy of DCS up-to-date and will it keep updated in future, too?
what the heck is the Repair DCS World option trying to do - a full clean install?
Thanks for any assistance and best regards.
