Hello. Thank you for your response. There is no log file (the game has NEVER LAUNCHED).At the indicated path there is only Saved Games\DCS\Missions\SavesDir, which contains a file called steam_autocloud.vdf. Nothing else.

I just downloaded DCS from Steam and everything looked fine. Except when I press the Play button: the game asks me if I want yo launch the steam or the steam VR version, I choose and after a few seconds it returns back to the original state. It does not crash - it does not launch at all. I verified game files, checked programs that might interfere with Steam (I have a several steam games that run perfectly), I checked the time zone thing, I excluded the whole DCS folder from Windows Antivirus scans ...nothing. I believe I do cover HW requirements but I've attached system specs for you. I have not been able, so far, to even start the game, so there is no log file to share... your help will be very much appreciated. HOME-DESKTOP.speccy
