Well I hope it's a joke and not posting "fake news" Feck Me I'd never heard that phrase 2 years ago. Yes they do have DRAM QVL. Must admit I couldn't find it on an I phone. Found it quickly on the PC. Ordered G skill 16Gb (for now) @ 3600. The QVL says it will work. Fingers crossed. (PC parts picker = yes also ) Any advise for my 1st PC build? I'm not new to PC components. Ive changed Absolutely Everything in a PC except the MB. Most things are a piece of piss. The most daunting a psu change. But that was easy because I had the old leads in place. Simply swap old for new. Easy! This time its a new case & new MB. Whole different mind set for me. Apprehensive, worried. To make matters worse..... The most expensive component has not arrived when it should have (1080TI) Feck Me! (and i paid extra for next day del) Worry, worry worry. But at the end of the day it's only a 1st world worry I tell myself. But it make no difference. Some feckers stolen it, is whats going though my mind. Good job I run each PC I own into the ground before I upgrade.

Hi Goa, Ive decided to go for the Asrock z370 Taichi MB. Ive read from other owners that sometimes the board doesn't like some types of ram. Can you tell me the exact specs for your Ram (GSkill TridentZ @3600mhz) I plan only 16gb at present. Don't want to spend £200 on ram to find it incompatible with the Taichi! Thanks.

Thanks for all the reply's guys. The problem with leaving PC builds 8 years apart is you loose touch with the high end gear. So I'm a little lost in some cases with all the suggestions even though Ive been doing research for the last few weeks. I'm flying the F/A-18 on a PC with an I7@2600. 10GB of ram @1600. A Radeaon 5700 card with 1GB of video ram. The one Godsend that keeps my PC alive is SSD's. Wow they made a difference 3 years ago. I can only fly the 18 (or anything) if I make my own training missions I then get 15~20 fps without stutters which is smooth enough to land. Why have I still got this old clunker of a PC you may ask. I flew mainly Falcon BMS and for that it does it's job well. (Biting my lip to keep it from a war) I said when the 18 comes out. It's new PC time. Ive set my budget at £2000 but we do have higher prices for parts than in the US. So I cant go top end for everything. I figure a top end MB is a must to be as future proof as possible (what a joke that word is) I was hanging off waiting for the crypto pricks to die off that pushed up the 1080ti prices. Now I find I'm waiting for the 2080's to flood the market until the 1080ti drops to bargain point. OR I buy a 2080??? (my mind is still set on a 1080ti at the moment) So same boat as David OC. A nightmare time for a build. (price v performance) Ive got the funds now but I have to wait to see whats going on with GPU prices and 2080 performance. This will also be my 1st build. Ive changed just about everything over the years. New PSU's, RAM, GPU's, Hard drives, SSD's. Optical drives. I think Ive done the lot. the only thing Ive never done is new case & MB. So looking forward to it. And there's loads of help on YouTube these days. So I want to get it right from the ground up... Case is maybe just a luxury. MB is the Big One I think.

Hi, After many a year I'm finally building a new PC. I'd like to buy a top end PC case (ATX) It's got to have options for an Optical drive etc. I want quality and I'm prepared to pay for it. I want it to be easy to work on and easy to maintain. Lots of space, good options for cooling & cable management. And being a flight simmer lots of connectivity. (don't want an XL ATX case) I'm debating wether or not to go down the water cooling option so space might be good. I'm also not interested in RGB lighting so I'll pass on the Glass side panels. (I'm in my 50's and can live without flashing lights. Next question is I want a Quality Z370 Motherboard that is reliable and will last for years. Again not bothered about RGB lighting but it may have to be an extra I don't want that I can switch off. More important to me is connectivity and ease of overclocking. Also whats your thoughts on M.2 drives? Are they much faster than SSD's (which I love) Maybe one M.2 drive for Windows and one M.2 drive for DCS and other sims? Your thoughts please

"The fact that DCS ATC does is a limitation that will be addressed at some point." Arrh OK. that clears up my question to you. should have read the whole message! Thanks again!

Thanks for that. But I do find it odd. Why wouldn't you want to set alti to QFE/zero? I know i can use radar alt in a jet . But a question in general. A light aircraft for instance. They fly from Nevada area surely they set alti to zero for takeoff?

I also have a question regarding alti setting in Navada. When trying to set the standby indicator to ground level Zero feet I can't. The test range for example. I turn the pressure adjuster all the way down and it still says I'm at 100ft. Some airfields its near 2000ft. How do I set the alti to zero? I must be missing something. I have no problems in the Caucasus map.

Hi. I’m going to do a fresh install of DCS. What files do I need to backup (and there locations) to keep my key binds and other settings. Thanks.

Tried another headset. Same problem. Uninstalled the F18 module + reinstalled still no warnings or atc sounds. -

TechRoss. My problem matches yours exactly. No Betty no deedles no arc. Except I can’t hear them faintly when volume on max. Tried all your suggestions as they made sense. And bugger me. Not enough space to install the stable version.
