  1. Oh, too bad. The Apache is pretty nice. I already have BF2 though I haven't tried ARMA. I'd say they're not even close to the hard core sim-genre. :P I'm pretty sure I will be happy with A10 as it is but it would be nice to have a ground-sim in the future that would connect with the other DCS-games. (And the Leopard 2 is such a lovely piece of equipment.) ;)
  2. nomdeplume: I have heard about Steel Beasts and been thinking about getting it but it's the whole idea about being able to play both ground/air in the same campaign that I'm after (especially in multiplayer). While I do agree that it might be unrewarding to drive tanks vs aircraft the whole idea is to have scenarios that includes tanks/aircraft on both sides and that you're able to control assets both in the air and on the ground. In pure tank sims you have to be aware of enemy tank-busters as well too so I think it could work out (especially if the sim was more like LockOn but for tanks, so that there would be several different vehicles to chose from and one of those might be AA-support). Poor mans sniper: An old article on Sim HQ actually. I think I've read a couple of threads on this forum as well mentioning it but I'm not sure if the project is set in motion yet.
  3. Hello all, this is my first post here. I haven't played any serious simulator for years and my F-22 pro with digital chip upgrade is collecting dust somewhere, though I am thinking of getting the new Thrustmaster Warthog and DCS: A-10. I just need to be able to take some time from all the other games I play, like WoW (blasphemy, I know, sorry). Now the reason for this post is actually about inter-connection between the different DCS titles and a future wish. It's totally amazing that you can play several titles that portraits different aircraft and it has so much potential. Black Shark, A-10 and the upcoming Apache are all very tank-buster focused; they are also all aircraft. I would really love if I could gather a bunch of friends where some of us would drive a tank column and while some flew air support and then the rest played on the opposing side and tried to take us out. Is there any plans for a tank sim from ED at all or they are strictly aircraft sim developers? Driving a Leopard 2 A7+ in a realistic sim would make me wet my pants. :)
