Personal Information

  • Flight Simulators
Almost everything at one stage from original Apache and Falcon to DCS A-10c
  • Location
    Godzone
  • Occupation
    Pilot
  1. Flown the 767 and 737. Now fly a very large bus. I know a ex F/A-18 pilot who fly's a lot of sims. Also a ex military test pilot who saw combat in Vietnam who plays a little. ARM505 you'll enjoy the 800, much nicer cockpit than the 400 but not as forgiving to land.
  2. I would say no. TACAN approach requires an approach plate. ILS is available and works. GCA not sure but I think in game they would only get you to a point of performing a visual approach. I don't think it is the same as a PRA. (precision radar approach) where the controller talks you down to the ground like an ILS.
  3. Buzz that is just a generalisation for a standard atmosphere. The are many variances IRL, inversions whether you are in cloud or not. In dry air it's 3 degrees per 1000' in wet 1.5. Yes 2 degrees per thousands feet is about right but it is not the whole game. As for the setting of wind. Absolutely no way would an A-10 have a you insert meters per sec instead of knots in a wind field.

    Trim

I'm wondering if Trim is modeled correctly. Is the A-10 a trim to center like a commercial jet or trim to stick position like a light aircraft. I have FF2 and I don't like the way it handles trim and if I turn the FF off in the producer file I get a stick that loses all centering tension. Is there a way to remedy this?
  5. I'm having a problem with the sim not recognizing my profile hot keys. It loads the everything in the profile I select (the head movement part) except it retains the standard F7 F9 F12 keys not the ones in the profile. Any suggestions?
  6. Save your input folder and then re-install, it just copies over the existing files and dosen't require activation. Only thing left to do then is adjust the video/sound options.
