It would seem my activation key is not valid for some reason, pretty sure its only been used one time, I'm always careful to deactivate if I need to re install. Please advise Many thanks

Finally got this sorted ! It seems there were some corrupt files in the registry, in the end the sound card would not even work at all, I tried a system restore but it was un fixable :-( In the end a very reluctant re-install of the O/S fixed the issue.

Yep already tried that, when I run the Direct X installer it thinks about it for a few seconds and then says a newer or equivelent version is already installed therfore no install is necessary ! This really bums me out, as right now I still cannot play A-10 or BS2

As you suggested I tried the following today : Disabled the Xonar sound card, unistalled the drivers and cleaned the registry, jumped in the bios and enabled on board ( realtek) installed the latest drivers as from the asus site, left all at default 48 khz stereo, ran the direct x files again, tried the game, no sound. So, now I have BS2 and as it uses the same engine I have no sound in this release also :helpsmilie: Exactly the same issue XAudio2. dll failed to intialise :(

Well I thought I was a step closer to figuring this out as I have another game giving the same error, X Audio 2 issue, in this case I set a different sample rate and it worked just fine. But alas what ever sample rate I select for A10 I still have no sound. Its very odd as I currently have over 20 games installed and working fine with great sound.

Hi there, thanks a lot for getting back to me on this, its a bit odd for sure as i have been happily running this sim since launch with no issues, this only happened when I applied 1.0.9 ! been trying to get to the bottom of this and even rolled back to 1.0.7 and patched to 1.0.8, and even then no sound which is nuts ! So I patched to start with, game runs fine but no sound ! Full uninstall and complete re-install version 1.0.9 .... no sound. re installed sound card driver (Asus Xonar D2X) no joy downloaded and re-installed direct x 9c ( as others mentioned b4 with sound issues) still no sound menu screen has sound but as soon as i load a level ............. nothin' doin' any one else ?
