  1. Well one can always use that argument. For different reasons i have already waited since the release of the 30-series to buy a new card and have other reasons not to wait now.
  2. But the cost of the 4080 super is closer to the 7900xtx than the latter is to the 4090 I have already waited for more than a year because of other cirumstances. There will always be something to gain from waiting but it isnt always worth it. Still thanks for the info.
  3. I am planning on buying a new computer and the rtx 4080 Super or the rx 7900xtx are the ones i am considering. The 7900xtx seems to be better in raw performance especially as it is cheaper sometimes or costs the same as the rtx and it also has more vram. Do amd still have problems with drivers and VR and does the extra vram actually make much of a difference when both have quite a lot? Right now i have a hp reverb g2 and will play both multiplayer and singleplayer.
  4. Well no matter what I get it will be a big upgrade. Currently on an i7 8700k with a 1070. If you were to recommend intel what would be the closest equivalent to the 7800x3d? And probably will get a 4080 super because normal 4080 are really hard to get your hand on in sweden In dcs I mostly fly single but want to fly more multi but it gets very hard to fight anyone when my pc is trying to kill itself so flying models that are a bit more complicated tends to make the performance so bad I can’t spot much or fly that precisely either. But in multiplayer will the 7800x3d severely limit the gpu or will both be close to 100%?
  5. I am going to build/buy a new computer and will probably chose a 4080 or 4080 super depending on which I can get my hands on. I will mostly be playing DCS and il2 VR with my reverb g2. What would you recommend so that I won’t get bottlenecked(by too much at least) by the cpu.
  6. Good answer but it is the frequency and not the speed of the radar pulse that changes. Higher frequency when hot aspect lower when cold I don’t think PD radars change between a pulse scan and then a Doppler scan as they should be able to have filters and process both from the same return
  7. I think i found the answer. High prf is better at long range because it can transmit more energy and the max unambiguous range doesn’t seem to matter as there are ways of going around it or something
  8. I just think it feels weird that high prf would be better at great ranges when there should be higher range ambiguity at high prf as I understand it
  9. I have heard that medium prf should be better for cold and notching/flying sideways targets while hot targets are better for high prf. Why does the prf affect that because when I read about prf and watch some lectures on radar and prf I don’t see how it changes detection of targets with different aspects. Anyone who has worked with radars or just know why?
  10. Does anyone know if the maneuverability advantage of the sparrow is big or just a small advantage? Will it make a difference most of the time?
  11. Hi, I am thinking about buying the tomcat and is curious if there are any advantages that are big enough for you to use the aim 7 over the aim 54.
