  1. I'll keep note next time i'm in the ME doing some mission work and get back to you
  2. Real radio manuals, for some light reading. AN/ARC-51BX UHF Radio Set AN/ARC-134 VHF Radio Set AN/ARC-131 FM Radio Set AN/APX-72 Transponder Set (not implemented. Yet) AN/ARN-82 VHF Navigation Set AN/ARN-83
  3. I think moving forward in mission design people will start added NDB (or FM) stations for the Huey spots for important locations. The mission I just made today initially had one at the troop location but I took it out in favor of the player using landmarks. It's really not a big chore because it's just one trigger set, or unit option to do while designing a mission.
  4. I was looking earlier and I could see the TACAN station but no NDB info in the ME. I was looking at Batumi (which I know has a NDB station) and it shows no NDB. So while some may show those stations (none that i've run across) it isn't complete.
  5. Would recommend it to everybody flying the Huey. I was LOL when he was going through flight training, could totally relate.
  6. Good to know, I'm just going off the book "Chickenhawk" i'm reading.
  7. Sorry should have specified, ADF on the UHF band/radio. From the manual it requires an additional radio slave unit be installed. I don't think we have the UHF modeled with the AN/ARC-51BX in the sim. i.e Batumi is 430 kilohertz which would = 0.43 megahertz which we can't tune our UHF radio to. Link to the real radio manual
  8. I have the TMwarthog and i'm just using stock axis settings. No deadzones and no curves. Like the pickup tutorial says, "small adjustments" when hovering. As i've read thought in the next update the Huey is much more stable. What that means to me is get good/better now and be a master when they tame it down a little.
  9. That would be nice. You can edit the kneeboard pictures to your liking. I'm not sure which files it is but theres instructions for changing the pages somewhere on the forums. You could use that list I posted, break it up in a couple pages. **edit** found the dir where the kneeboard pages are kept, I'd start there. PeterP could probably help you better than I can though. C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Terrain\Kneeboard
  10. In your control setup screen you should be able to click on the field and hit save. it should save it to a file.
  11. Just double checked the manual, doesn't look like it has the (to-from) designation. Also rewatched that part of my video and it's only straight when i'm heading to target. once on my way to them then when I swing around because the nose (once again) points towards them. Hope this helped.
  12. I'd just use the list of NDB I posted. The "iwarthogHD" app doesn't include them all.
  13. "Yes, looks like the mission may not be passable at default play in the release build. Will try to test again and fix up for the next update." __________________ - EB
  14. You're welcome. enjoy.
  15. So in this mission you'll be "Haulin' ass", in chopper pilot speak that means you'll be transporting troops. Things just might not be that simple though.... Music station on 40 FM (as always) Have fun. Mission If theres interest in missions like this I'll make more, longer, more in depth ones. Feel free to give me feedback, things I can add, do better, or tell me it sucks :) I love the video's of people playing.
  16. Good info, hopefully (as you said) it will be fixed. For now we can always just add units broadcasting in the mission editor.
  17. From reading the real manual for the UHF radio, the ADF function isn't used real world (On the UHF radio) so I doubt they modeled it in the sim. That i've found you can't really use the AN/ARC-51BX for navigation. Since we can't contact JTAC (yet) in the Huey, use FM for navigation/music. UHF will be handy when TARS gets up and running. Watch my video(s) on radio navigation.
  18. That would make sense, but seeing as everything else is Vietnam model spec, I wouldn't think they'd chose composite over metal. Whichever it is still a great Sim.
  19. Loving it so far.
  20. If you try that shark mission where your in a 4 ship and you have to go high over a mountain then drop in a pass you'll see engine stress. Used to happen to me every time I played that mission, just complete engine failure because of running the engine over limits.
  21. So in the book he describes the Huey, with its large weighted blades, being able to pick up and hover for three feet then make a 180 degree turn before the blade runs out of energy. I've tried this many times, with the most favorable conditions (5% fuel, completely empty) no wind and can't even begin too replicate it. I get the blades and turbine up to operational speed and cut the fuel while adding collective. I've even tried going to manual governor (forcing max rpm) and doing the same and can't get even to 3 feet off the ground let alone pivot 180 degrees. Anybody have any info if what he said in the book is accurate? Also when he was learning to auto rotate he said that you bottom the collective and we know the rest but when you bottom the collective you loose all control of pitch and roll. Any input would be helpful for us and the team I'm sure.
  22. Nice landing.
  23. I think you're ok, you can post music and video game footage under the fair use act. It's a setting somewhere on youtube where you dispute the claim that you're trying to make money off somebodies music.
  24. I think right now since the VRS is over modeled, when you flared at the bottom of the decent you'd be in trouble.
