  1. i'm bias, but the f-16 has that page as well :) still think with the following of the falcon series it would carry over well to DCS.
  2. Perfect thank u goth and grimes, rep coming your ways
  3. Makes complete sense to me, I'll keep that in mind thx for your expertise.
  4. I'll check that out, just would like to do some tasks the a-10 is being used for in reality. I don't mind long missions, I just read up in my manuals while i'm loitering : )
  5. just double checked, left MFD has tgt assigned by default, the right MFD had both tgt and mav by default so maybe I didn't explain it clearly. Why go through reassigning the mav button to the left MFD when you can just as easily just punch up the tgt (which is already there) on the left mfd and mav on your right? Just just taking advantage of the default MFD button assignments.
  6. I can see that making sense as far as everybody orbiting the same direction, but by default the LMFD has a tgt pod mode button already assigned. I realize this can be changed but for 'not having to press another series of buttons sake' i use tgt on the left while i'm using mav on the right since i'd have to change one of the buttons to mav on the left MFD if I wanted to ad hear to turning towards the direction my pod is displaying. On the other hand this reminds me of a story they told when I went through the police acadamy about uniformity..the state troopers used to always wear their gun on the right so they would be uniformity the same, regardless of right/left hand dominance. thx for the reply
  7. Never occurred to me to use the location in thins way, very interesting.
  8. Does it make a difference? once I take out the AD I normally go into a wide left hand pattern, so i'd assume you would have a continuous view of the area being circled. curious of any other people switching pod sides.
  9. I'd love to do that but i'm worthless at making missions, I tried making a uber simple air refueling mission just me and a tanker and failed. I made a pre new years resolution to learn the mission builder and make the worlds best realistic missions but thats a ways off :pilotfly:
  10. Agreed, especially since they are claiming that they shot down one of our recon drones.
  11. I've done some searching around the missions forum and I've yet to find a real world (current war) mission(s). Something like your on-call cas/strike/recon and you have a area to patrol and provide over watch recon or strike capability on-demand. I've tried making mission before and I admit I've failed miserably, I need to do some reading i guess. I'd love a mission where your just loitering and your randomly called in to provide recon for a ground force on suspected enemy. Most of the missions I've seen is your tasked with destroying a massive force of tanks and AD, I realize the WH is designed to take out armor/tanks but In our current war I assume they are providing more recon and single strikes if called in. I'm not sure if the current mission creator will support just doing recon for a ground force or not, Something like say fly to a point called in to you by jtac and recon a area ahead of a couple Hummer's or armor and if it's clear then tell them it's clear and to move, or if you see targets you can call in and request to fire on them. Maybe I'm wishing for to much but I figured I'd give it a shot. Again i'm not experienced with the mission creator at all.
  12. Still great info you gave :) I'll prob do this on some of the training missions, DTC and dynamic campaign would just about complete this sim. I think the DC is one of the reasons the falcon series has such a huge following, that and the community. Nothing like flying a mission and seeing a realtime unrelated (to your mission) battle going on under you. One of the biggest features I'm interested in is the player controlled JTAC. will add loads to the sim.
  13. cool thx for the info will give it a shot
  14. ahhh got it, so pretty much you might as well just change it in cockpit when you actually start the mission :o/ I have edited .lau files for my multi monitor setup but for me at least it's not worth the trouble of unzipping and repacking mission files to get saved setting. Thx for the info though.
  15. Sweet thank you very much, i'll have to check that out when i get home. Is it somewhere in the loadout section of the prepair mission editor?
  16. can i find some more info about this somewhere? Is that a "hack" pilots use or designed? It seems like I have to be firewalled the whole mission and I'm not loading the a-10 to the teeth, using more common real world loadouts.
  17. Not sure about the speedbrake utilization, the videos I've seen aren't using the speedbrake to enhance the banking performance if thats what you meant. As far as setting everything up before hand, thats what I'm doing now but when you have to set HOF, TAD declutter, Slew speeds for both the mav/tgt pod, your weapon release profiles, CMS... ect ect, would be nice to be able to set that stuff up before your even in the pit.
  18. Copy that, I'm not sure what I had fuel wise, I know it was less then 50%. As far as joystick setup I have the WH and when it's at full deflection the ailerons are at full deflection so...hmm Guess I'll have to give it another shot, still seems pretty under powered, but then again I have no IRL experience so I'll take the sims "word" for it.
  19. Has anybody found a work around (editing some install file or something) to getting persistent changes in the avionics settings? I appreciate how accurate the warthog is but for the life of me I don't know how they didn't implement such a standard essential feature. I know that for example they are going to make the HOF 1800 ft in the next patch for the cbu-105/97 but if we had a way to set avionics setting before hand that would be one less thing they would have to change in the code. Also, I wanted to ask, I've watched real a-10 videos and even saw one at a airshow a couple years ago and the performance seems off. Ive tried with a unloaded (airshow configuration) model and I get no where the climbing or handling performance. If you watch a video of a a-10 it doesn't handle like a marsh-mellow like ours does, the snap turns, 4 point turns are a lot crisper then it seems in the sim.
  20. I think it's kinda luck of the draw with saitek, I've had both the x52 and x52 pro and I haven't have any issues with either stick. I have a tm wh now and it's amazing but i've read reports of problems with thoughs as well. If your new and don't want/have to spend the money on a wh then i'd get a x52 pro.
  21. If you were getting into a new hobby say...r/c airplanes..you wouldn't wanna go out and buy a $600+ remote to learn on, I'd say start off with the x52 because it's a great hotas and see if you'd like to get further into flight sims. I use the WH for every flight game, heck even use it for flying in BF3 but if I didn't fly BMS falcon or A-10C it's kinda overkill for 90% of other sims. I guess if he does buy the WH and doesn't end up flying it would be a cheap used deal for somebody on this board haha I think theres a conspiracy.
  22. havn't had any issues landing anywhere i'd like, on runway off runway, on boats other helicopters whoops.
  23. +1
  24. I believe so, It's bs2 and I can see them while zoomed in but unless i'm tracking them via tracer fire even scanning with the skoval I'd just pass right over them. I tried to set back at 2 miles, 1-1/2 miles (out of AK-47?) range and no way i could spot them, especially with that blah skoval resolution. *edit* Just saw the hotfix, will try it out. thx
  25. coming from a x52 pro to a tm warthog, Id have to agree about the difference, WH is AMAZING but i used the 52 pro for years and still was fun in any sim. It sounds like this is his first sim so he's gonna have alot of work ahead of him to learn to fly with a-10c, I've been flying since commodore 64 and a-10c took a minute to get proficient at. I'd go for the x52 and TIR being he's new to the hobby.
