  1. :megalol: can we model that in-game lmao
  2. One thing I'd like to suggest is re-mapping the trim to a more "stable" button. I have the tm warthog and initially the trim was mapped to the pinky button and i was constantly losing the button press and/or hitting it twice when i'd grab the stick so i mapped it to the big "AP disconnect" slap switch at the base of the stick.
  3. So I'm flying online last night and flew through a village and only noticed the AA infantry because they were shooting at me, so i flew a mile or so out spun around into a hover and using the tracer fire got the skoval on them. How do you people see them with your eyeballs? even zoomed in a mile out it was barely possible to see them in the monitor, (using full res both ingame and on the skoval display) gotta be a better way because after taking out acouple their aim got better and shot me down :)
  4. Sry if this has been addressed, but I don't maneuver then trim, I've found that way to just cause a mess of everything. I normally hold the trimmer maneuver then release, has been working 100% perfect for me. the only other time i touch the stick without holding the trimmer is when i'm making small temporary adjustments. *edit* wow just read the thread...pretty simple really, this sim is for enjoyment so do what works best for you. Holding the trim and maneuvering (which is how I fly) might not be IRL correct but it I'm not fighting the AP and makes for smooth flights. No need to get worked up over a "enjoyment software" :)
  5. thx guys will try them out
  6. I'm running BS2 at max res and getting 60 FPS, so it seems like i have headroom for higher texture resolution. Is there any downloads of higher res game textures or extra eye-candy available for download?
  7. I agree about the cores, bf3 was a PC game ported to consoles though, the ps3 was a beast hardware wise when it came out but it only has something like 256 megs of ram 256 megs of Vram, Tried running linux on it back in the day and it was a dog. Just read up on some topic's in the game performance forum gonna try them out tonight, judging by the system specs of people that are running all on high with added "eye candy" mods I shouldn't have any issues with my system. When every other software you throw at your system runs perfectly maxed out and then DCS has issues doesn't sound like a pc problem. thx for changing the thread BTW learning alot on this forum, dodging the flames.
  8. My point was all these other programs are gfx intensive and they run 4x better then DCS products, both when run alone and at the same time. You can't tell me x-plane doesn't do as many calculations as dcs does.
  9. I don't buy your aurgument about DCS being so intensive that it makes everything else seem simple to run, I'm thinking it's un-optimized code, If i can run 3 separate high gfx intensity programs at the same time and it's fine but somehow the DCS programs are more demanding then all 3 put together doesn't add up. As for falcon bms, I wouldn't throw rocks in glass houses, the gfx aren't that much better in dcs (not like night and day) and I can run bms without crashing every 5-10 minutes. You are correct I am being off topic though.
  10. fsx isn't a shooter either is falcon BMS,I also run skyrim again with fully maxed out setting, I have zero issues with low frame rates with any other software besides DCS products. Your right I don't know how the under the hood stuff works but if it is having issues on my system which has almost the top of the line hardware (They make a gtx590) and it drops the frame rates that much, I'd assume it's something with the code. Unless your using a duel xeon processor machine running 3x sli gtx 590's then i'm not sure how'd you'd even judge how the game would perform with all settings on high. Xplane with all sliders maxed out also runs at between 40-60 FPS so i'm not sure how diffrent the software works
  11. Isn't that what gfx slider are for :) some of us have the hardware to run with all the goodies on with room for more, I just posted something over in the BS forum about the framerate deal, I have a monster system and bs2 and a-10 brings me "down" to 30+ fps, when i can run bf3 fsx crysis 2 simultaneously (all in max) at 60+ need to create this in a tag someday cpu:i7 990 extreme gfx: gtx 580 (overclocked) ram: 16 gigs ddr3
  12. I'll do you one better, merge bf3 with dcs...you can already designate ground targets for aircraft in bf3 and you can use man-pads (stingers). You'd have a amazing battle raging under you and the immertion factor would be great. wishful thinking wishful thinking. Moderator note: split this discussion from the Future Roadmap thread. /E
  13. I'm not understanding the deal with frame rates either, i'm running I7 990x extreme processor and have a gtx 580 with 16 gigs of ram, I can run bf3, fsx, crysis 2 at the same time and i'm getting 60+ fps with all those games (running 1920x1080 all max settings) but BS2 and A-10 running at max gets around 30 fps by itself. Doesn't make alot of sense.
  14. I'd say at very least you could retain the current modern battlefield and if the p-51 was a option it would be a good FAC and anti-infintry weapon. I still think it would be great at lots of tasks in modern warfair.
  15. diff config, around here they use them as crop dusters...mowing down insects.
  16. Didn't make a diff in my stick, I wasn't having issues with it just wanted to make sure it was as close to perfect as I could get it though.
  17. LOL, I love it, so how would the mission system work? I mean would bugs killed be counted as units or as a whole? I live in a area where these things are like fireflys doing the crop dusting season, great power to weight ratio.
  18. Thank you for your response, I was on the server as well and was shadowing "wags" for awhile :)
  19. AS a side note interesting article about them putting the digital cockpit of a a-10c into a prop driven aircraft. http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/irregular-warfare-offers-new-role-for-propeller-driven-348848/
  20. Imagine though if we could jam all the targeting computers and flight controls into the p-51...I think it would be great for low level sead missions, aside from that it smokes the a-10 in the speed department and good luck locking it up with a manpad :) would be a nice option to fly. Could wreak havac on the choppers and air defences buzzing by at 350+ mph dropping mk-82's in ripple
  21. I was wondering the same thing as the OP, I guess my eyes have been spoiled by the tgp on the a-10c :)
  22. I'm running a gtx 580 and i just leave the setting alone out of game aside from setting the power to always max performance in Nvidea settings, In-game i max everything except bird strikes :)
  23. For the record I was just stating that I hope they (DCS) keep priority on finishing the existing sim's they have out before starting new projects. Didn't mean to turn this into a flame thread, I do enjoy both sims i've bought, just vented a bit to much, my bad i guess.
  24. The reason we do get the Nevada "upgrade" is because it was included with the pre-release, if they'd like to ban me for putting my 2 cents in then so be it. A bug or two isn't the issue, it's that its mostly buggy and getting worse with every patch, as you know this isn't really a i have a quick minute to play, you have to gear up your track ir and do your setup, waste of time when your in the middle of a mission and get a CTD. I also have bf3 and skyrim and have yet to have a crash, all your doing is making excuses for this software and we as users of this sim don't need somebody that isn't even involved with the development of the sim (aside from being free beta testers as we all are) making excuses for them. We are all "funding" this project unless you pirated the the sim, so i don't see where your coming from with that comment. I also play falcon BMS and it's rock solid both SP and MP, havn't had any issues at all. As far as not my concern, It is when anything they do is going to start costing us more in order to have a functional sim.
  25. I'd consider it a patch when It just improves things that were in the original sim, The fact that you get that if you pre-purchased the game doesn't negate the fact that DCS is making things a "upgrade" as opposed to including it for the rest of the people that are just getting into it. I love the sim just frustrating when after all the time it's been out it has such bad stability.
