Nice can't wait to try it out.

Sorry I had that music on, not sure how to get around that country block except not play music.

All stock no curves, tmwarthog

Completely agree, although with the way our AI accuracy is we could fulfill the SEAD role in the Huey.

I'm still hoping for the dancing hula girl on the dash mod, all that shakin' might as well use it for something.

Gov switch in emergency position but no manual control of corrector
wess24m replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Bugs and Problems
gotcha, I wonder if it's the same problem plaguing the toe brakes, i.e. not releasing or depressing to the full range. -
All my other missions I made within an hour or so, this new one i'm working on has degraded me to a pen and paper. Pen and paper..like an animal or something. I feel your pain. I wish the ME implemented a collaboration feature. would be nice to be able to work jointly, BTW I think I found the max file size for either a mission or sound file(s). I tried to make 2 radio stations with 2 full album's and neither would play. The mission ended up being 120MB, that was with 44,000 sample rate with mono only. I need to figure out the scripting part of the ME. what slows me down the most is all the 4-6 conditions you have to put for every landing trigger. "Chickenhawk down" sounds interesting, is there a "win" condition or are you modelling it to actual events?

Barrel rolls with a huey ? is that possible IRL ?

I hit 160 knots once...the rotor detached, but other than that everything went ok... :pilotfly: -
BAM!! thank you unseen hero.

Do you have a Warthog as well? -
I wanted to post a preview video for my mission i'm making "Haulin' Trash" but couldn't find an appropriate thread, I don't think it deserved it's own thread because it's just a preview. So since this is our unsticky (for now) video thread I'll post what I came to post in the non-existent video thread. :D So this is me testing out triggers for the new mission forgive the sloppy flying (and video, Vegas decided to chew on my video while rendering) was going for speed not grace, also to get a approximate time somebody could show up flying my mission while hitting the triggers at the first drop off point. While there's a more detailed description on the video page of YouTube, i'll give you a quick rundown. 1-2 hour mission covering 60-80 miles, lots and lots of triggers. You will be you delivering supplies to bases and field units (which might not sound fun, it is, to me at least). I also threw a new dynamic at you, mission weather will be 100 degrees+ (38-43C) as well as real dynamic loading. When you drop something off it will effect the weight of your chopper, if you pick something up it will add to the weight. It will include being unloaded by real troops and not just land and have your stuff magically delivered. Also I read about a script that somebody else is working on that allows dynamic troop insertion and extraction, can be with any Huey not just scripted ones. he's releasing it to the public and when that happens my missions will include it. In the video i'm pushing the Huey (in mission weather, at beginning mission weight) to the extreme limit of it's performance. If you'd like to try it out get 50% fuel and cargo weight of 500 kilograms plus 100-107 degree weather and fly around. With these kind of conditions your Huey is going to top out around 80-100 knots sustained if you use your energy efficiently. The mission will be out tomorrow or the next day. enjoy.

Wow, that thing must be all rotors and turbines. Very cool. -
Did you fly this yet? i'm not sure if I found something going wrong it if it was imagination.
-
Perfect!! thank you. Heads up I have a "haulin' trash" mission coming up here in about an hour. I think it will be interesting.
-
I can definitely whip that kind of mission up. Keep an eye on the board, I'll see what I can do. The music and voice stuff is going to have to be for later, what I could do is loop ATC traffic from real life on one or multiple radio channels.

Gov switch in emergency position but no manual control of corrector
wess24m replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just unbound the axis and rebound it and now it works. weird, not sure what the deal was. I also forgot that the Huey comes bound by default to the 2 throttle axis'es. the left is the collective and the right is the "corrector" so maybe I missed something when I swapped them around. -

Yup, it was happening before I even mapped the axis. I'll do some more testing, will it let you spool down to idle once at operating speed on your end? -
Can we get the miniguns on the stern position (together with the rockets)
wess24m replied to Stratos's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Thats a lot of good info Sundowner. thx -
That list is NDB only. If you have an Ipad/Iphone/Android i'd recommend the DCS apps for them, they list VOR and a bunch of other useful info. They don't include the NDB's though, I've written to the authors about adding them so hopefully we'll see them implemented soon.

Gov switch in emergency position but no manual control of corrector
wess24m replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have a TMwarthog so the left throttle is mapped to the throttle (corrector), it will spool up when doing a full start but once there, it doesn't want to go back to idle. I pull back the throttle and I see the handle turning towards the idle setting but once it's (my left throttle) full aft (idle) the handle starts twisting back up. Doesn't matter if i'm in auto or manual, double checked all controls for double assignment and theres none. When I land and do a shutdown I have to just kill the fuel to get the turbine stopped. The issue you're having is effecting everybody, as it's already been reported as a bug. -
I'm going to have to get creative with the chickenhawk missions, as i've said elsewhere real world missions are boring 90% of the time with the other 10% being terrifying. I'm sure you guys don't wanna fly a general around directing troops for 10 hours, or fly troops to a different FARP with no enemy contact. I've got some ideas but we'll see how they work out in mission form.

Different radio station is definitely in the future, as of right now I can't randomize the music as it has to be saved in one sound file, what I can do is (as you say) have different stations, another thing I can do it have triggered zone for different songs ect. I was going to put "Ride of the valkyries" as a trigger when you're running in on your targets but thats for the future I'm not a huge music person so i'm running out of music to mix up and put in mission. A separate thread would be cool, like a mission thread not just for me, i'm sure other people are making missions as well. One thing that would make all my missions better is voice overs, the issue is I only have me and my voicing playing a half dozen radio operators would kinda kill the immersion (at least for me, if I was playing).

It should work, mines showing 32:36 hours (for the Huey) total. seems about right.
-
Your welcome, if the sim can simulate it i'll put it in. Good luck with Zero Dark Thirty, I made it last night but didn't get a chance to fly it, worked perfectly (when tested this morning) but that blackhawk is hard to track at night. Not sure how to get it to turn on formation lights, although i'm sure they'd be off or very dim when closer to the target area.

Gov switch in emergency position but no manual control of corrector
wess24m replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same here. once it's started up no matter where you put the "corrector" it stays full on. I have it mapped to my left throttle and when I bring it down (regardless if in auto or manual governor) it twists right back up. I've tried manually bringing the governor down then min throttle and have the same thing happen.
