Agreed. I think it bears repeating that HB have offered a refund ('No Questions Asked' I believe) to anyone who is dissatisfied, so if anyone is so uncomfortable with the situation that they want out all they need to do is tell Heatblur. I don't know how that could be fairer.
Yeah but the people who are buying the Phantom want to fly it and drop ordinance with it. Is there an alternative to doing that that isint Warthunder, or a mod with limited servers?

Just like with the F-16 release into EA.
That one went down well with the community didn't it?
wasnt here, wouldnt know.

But thats what early access is. You get to play the game accepting there will be bugs, with the hope that they will be fixed in future updates.

TLDR if you have a small team catching something that happens 10% or less of the time is very unlikely.
I mean, you get more people when you release in early access.

If you choose to set your IFF up incorrectly thats a you problem. I dont plan on getting in that phone booth with you when i still have sparrows.

With the ever increasing fidelity and realism of player-controlled aircraft, I wonder how the AI will handle radars in the (near) future. Currently they see everything and can lock you up instantly, but should the AI have a random X% chance to detect you at Y distance (based on skill level) with appropriate delays between detection/lock-on/firing?
I know this is ED's responsibility, but I couldn't help but wonder after watching this Episode...I thought the most recent HB "Mini Update" had information about this in it.

I understand the Vinyls were delayed a bit. But if they arrive before release, will the album be released online for the rest of us to listen to?

The facts are what they are, and they are immutable. Nobody in DCS World, nor ED nor any 3rd party ever gives you a release date in years, because everyone knows that they are not going to happen, the most recent example ...........
I think thats the wrong conclusion to take home from being off on a release date. Itd be better to go back in retrospective and look at why the release slipped and add that slippage time to your estimate, not just blanket statement "we will never announce a release date until a month before hand is guaranteed"

I dont think constantly calling people "entitled", is going to make them any more patient.

I think the big issue people have with communication stems from both big studio update cycles, and real world job update cycles. Working in software and other fields, it doesnt matter if my work has been nothing but conducting peer reviews for the past 2 weeks, I am still required to give a status update to my boss. Scheduling and contract progress reports depend on this status being known. We have also been spoiled by Friday updates from ED, even if there is no real news there, at least we get a quick blurb from the developer.
These developers havent signed a contract with us that requires them to inform us of their status. As much as i would love to see a quarterly status update, even if its just code percentages, there is no requirement for an update.

Not a lot of love for the long nose RF-4 Variants in here.

J/S and K/M are too sleek for me.

I'm team patience! Everything else may just end in bad feelings.
Im actually on team "delay 1 week". The last week of winter i am super busy at work, but i have the next 2 weeks off. So like delay it a week for me and i can fly it nonstop for 2 weeks.

Vietnam was boring compared to WW2 liveries. Really wish they'd let squadron commanders chose what they wanted their birds to look like.

I agree, though the Avenger fits better since everything else we are getting/have and Marianas WWII is gonna be 1944 as well by which time the Dauntless was pretty much phased out. Could also go with the Helldiver. Now if we get a Midway map at some point...
In all fairness it shouldnt be that hard to make a massive midway map. A few small islands in the middle and a massive expanse of water in all directions.

Not that you guys have any time whatsoever for the foreseeable future, but the Pacific theatre seems to be heating up. Maybe we eventually see something multicrew like the TBM Avenger to fit the 1944 time period most of it seems to be. Jester as a navigator/bombardier and/or tailgunner would be very interesting, plus we don't yet have any WWII bombers much less torpedo bombers in general. Just an off topic thought.
Avenger would be LIT, buuuuutttttttttttttt SBD Dauntless would be much better.

The video creator could have put our Phantom in a French Navy livery, and had it attacking a British Rapier site, and still called it a Wild Weasel mission. The term has been taken over for a modern meaning.
I personally prefer SEAD/DEAD, but HUNTER/KILLER is also pretty cool. But its way easier to ask a wingman to Weasel that missile site so we can have a better chance at destroying it.

Nope. I saw a custom made representation of a map kind of like a 3D tacview. There was a group labeled "A-6", but that part of the video isn't made with DCS and the actual unit never made an appearance so I don't count it.
Ok negative Nancy, ill go be excited over A6 somewhere else.

Did anyone else see the AI A-6? at 1:05?

Darn, if only had payed attention in High School German.

I agree i would love if they would release a metric *********** tonne of FC style modules that likely arent popular enough to get a FF model. Lots of early cold war jets. Then as 3rd part devs come in, they can chose from those and have a base model that already exists.
