Same here. Performance is very very bad after the last update.

No shadows, water to low, textures to medium, vis range medium, ASW dis- engaged, no MSAA or filters  - nothing helps. Something is really of in the engine of DCS after the last update. I prey for the next onces cause DCS is comming more and more un-playable. Thats a shame because DCS is the only reason why I have a computer and VR!

    Cheers

    TOM

I am in the same boat. And I have to say that twice my friend

Thats a shame because DCS is the only reason why I have a computer and VR!

Same here, a significant amount of performance has been lost compared to when MT was first released.  I have tried every configuration of game settings, reprojection on/off,

    I also agree on this.!
The image quality on my  Reverb G2 is better on SteamVR with reprojection ON.!
I wish I had my system as it was with reprojection off and 80-90 FPS. The image quality was way better.!

I'll be leaving motion reprojection on.  This way it is smooth, with a stutter/tear in the image only maybe once or twice in a 360 degree rolling maneuver (with eyes on the ground). My DCS settings are attached.  I also run my Reverb G2 at 75% of its native resolution, and I only use tweaks in the Appearance tab of the OpenXR Toolkit, for color, saturation, contrast, shadow, highlights, etc. - no image scaling, foveated rendering, or anything like that.

    I hope this somehow helpsnull

Thank you very much for the information we agree that you have to leave reprojection On to be able to fly smooth.
    Thanks Mate

A couple of days ago, a friend of mine was testing out a much-nyped new openxr "reprojection". It looks like it's still just as bad compared to flying through SteamVR. My friend is very meticulous in terms of picture quality, so I can definitely trust him.
I understand that this maybe cannot help you in any way, except to switch to SteamVR, but there is a fact. Flights with and without projection via SteamVR in DCS now look better for me with Reverb G2 helmet. For myself, I've tried raising the helmet's resolution settings to 2700x to see a clearer picture, but my 3090 doesn't handle that load well. The image breaks all the time. At ~2144x you can fly without reprojection and the frame rate does not drop below 45 fps with MT.

I also assume that the tweaking of the operating system and nvidia drivers can affect the frame rate with the same DCS settings. I turned off game mode optimization, increased the swap file, turned off the device hotplug in DCS, and many other things. This is really crazy stuff. Especially in the sense that when flying in 2D I can use very high settings, and in VR I have to make disgusting quality settings just to fly.

    Dear Graphene,
I am flying always in SteamVR cause the image is way better with reprojection ON. I can not agree more with you and your friend. But as I said the image WAS even better with reprojection OFF. Unfortunately I can not use  reprojection OFF anymore with a decent image quality .

Yesterday (since  a stage of a  tournament was finished) I reformat my computer and set up everything from the begging hoping that my problem will be vanished.
Unfortunately the problem is still there. Reprojection ON is the only solution for smooth flying.

    Kind Regards

Just wanted to report progress in my case.  There was an updated Nvidia driver that released May 2 which I did not get a notification about.  I installed it, and tonight with motion reprojection on it was smooth while rolling and maneuvering around lining up targets, tracking bogeys in a furball, etc..  There is a hitch or artifact here and there, but overall it's about as smooth as I remember it being.  So, the biggest issue for me seems to have been Nvidia drivers.  I have not tested without motion reprojection, yet.

Please my friend test it with reprojection off and try to roll while looking to the left or right looking the mountains or the buildings.
Only in VR please cause there is the problem.

I hope is something on my Rig cause I will fix it immediately ( but what?)

    Kind Regards

Notice, it means that you use MT=on here as forced option. If you want to use OpenXR without MT you have to set as disable.

I Did not understand exactly what you said I put your settings but unfortunately I have the same issue. I am flying with 78-80 fps and if I roll the mountains and the ground are lagging extremely!!!
Did you manage to find any issues from the log file ???

  6. Here a Screenshot using DCS.exe --force_steam_VR

When rolling the ground jumps all arround. No reprojection on.

Please Note that the Resolution is very low 30% I always flown in 76%

Also note my settings way LOW...

The solution here is reprojection with 76% Steam Resolution

How does SteamVR and OpenVR work for you then in ST version?

The behavior is exactly the same in both games MT and ST in openxr or steamvr

So it is nothing to do with  openxr or Steamvr MT or ST ( as far as I understand )
I am a competitive player in Dojo and Satal and I remember exactly when this problem appeared. When MT was introduced

  7. Yoyo my friend ....Thank you .

So I  run SteamVR and OpenXR  and I have done all the combinations between the ST and MT.

Yes the problem is there to ST too.
I tried any aircraft and any map.
I am always in Openbeta and always in VR
If I do not enable reprojection and try to do a roll the buildings are jumping all over the place. This has nothing to do with altitude low or high the issue is there and I have 30%GPU usage (lower settings for testing.)

And the problem is there.! I disabled USB Hotplug.! and a lot lot more tweaks

    Kind Regards

  8. Hi YoYo,

I was totally fine with no reprojection and 70-90 FPS. I had no issues I had MSAA 4x and the image was crisp clear!
I could Dogfight hard without issues
At first I thought my rig had an issue. I remove dcs I reinstall it I format my system and moved Dcs to another nvme disk...etc...etc.

But is not what I want but how it is working now.
As I said, right now you can not play without reprojection.
If I turn off reprojection the game is unplayable in MT and in ST even if I put the resolution settings to even 20%. I am having 70-90 frames everything is perfect until I make a roll....( always in VR).

It is impossible to play hard on this simulator anymore.

  9. Dear Graphene,

It is not about specs cause I tried to lower the resolution settings on HP Reverb and the problem was still there.

The image was awfull lowering the resolution but I did that just to test if the mountains are shaking when rolling.
    And I got exactly that.!!

The problem is visible only in the headset while in the monitor is playing perfectly  the same time.

The problem is in MT and on ST playing without a reprojection is no go!!
Please take note the problem is visible only when rolling hard....

    Kind Regards

  10. I am not using SSAO or GlobalCockpit Illumintation and MSSA is on 2x where previous I was on 4x

I play only in VR and the problem is still there after the last update.
As I said the only way to play the game is to use SteamVR with reprojection ON with 45fps.

    Kind Regards
    Still waiting for the solution...

  11. Hi,

    My Specs: Reverb G2, 11th i7-11700K, 64GB, RTX3080, 2 NVME

I had no problem at all before you introduce MT. When MT was introduced  the only way to play the game is using reprojection.

The problem is on MT and on ST. It is impossible to fly fast and to make quick rolls and turns between mountains and hills everything is shacking when I keep a steady slow roll.

I tried OpenXR and SteamVR and the problem is there. I thought was my Computer and I did a clean install windows 11 revert it back to a clean install of Windows 10 and the problem is there.
The thing is that if you fly straight and level everything is fine. if you pitch up everything is fine. When you roll is when the problem arises
I found only one post saying about that on reddit but I did not find something in ED forums.

Is there a workaround on this ? you would be so kind to help me.....
