  1. Greetings all, I am just looking over the 1.1 Manual for Flaming Cliffs, I was wondering if I could get some clarity on the AIM-7 and firing this weapon. On page 86 of the manual, it states that the weapon needs to be fired from the STT or FLOOD mode. Ok that's all well and good. However on page 88 in the boxed text underneath the image it states that the AIM-7 can only be fired in STT mode, the text is dicussing the TWS modes and that the AIM-7 needs to be in STT mode, thus a pilot would need to search for the target, in TWS, then decide goto STT to fire the AIM-7, these two systems do interact with each other, so why must the pilot must re-target a second time for the AIM-7? Does the TWS not interact with the STT, by sharing and predicting agains the onboard library to determine what the threat is? Even if it didnt need to know what the threat was why does it require a second designation in order to launch? I hope this is not a old thread, but I was just wondering why it needs to be re-designated the 2nd time. Or am I completly missing the text, and its simply telling me to get out of TWS mode and back into STT mode before I can fire? Many thanks Pin
