The rectangle becomes visible when foveated rendering is enabled, regardless of whether you're using PimaxXR or Pimax's OpenXR runtime.
Alternatively, you could try disabling SSAO to see if that helps.

This means the headset is searching for the controllers. You may want to try re-pairing them.

Exiting the Quick Menu:
Press the volume key when the crosshair moves beyond the menu to exit.
The horizontal calibration feature has been temporarily removed due to a bug that was affecting controller tracking. Our engineers are currently working on optimizing it, and we’ll reintroduce the feature once it’s resolved.
