[Help Needed] Game crashes either to desktop or reboot when diving
AerialTeddy replied to AerialTeddy's topic in Game Crash
Thanks again Hiob! Pretty much everything else is fine and only DCS (instant action, missions, multiplayer) cause this reboot. I've completely uninstalled DCS now and will do a fresh install to see if it helps. I've also reached out to the PC seller and see if they have any tips that I can use to examine the PC (never been a hardware nerd). This has happened so frequently now that unfortunately I'm wondering if I should even spend any time on DCS and might just do only IL-2...too many evenings wasted on starting up and then a sudden frozen screen and a reboot. -
[Help Needed] Game crashes either to desktop or reboot when diving

Will give it a check. The desktop's set up by a well-known PC shop so I assume the GPU's set up properly. This didn't always happen before. I think it I only experienced this kind of crashing maybe the last 4 weeks. Never had these issues before. -
[Help Needed] Game crashes either to desktop or reboot when diving

Thanks for your reply. Is there a way to check it? This is the second time I hear the word overclock and I've never done anything to my Windows system other than tiny things like mouse scroll reverse scrolling or remapping of capslock etc. -
I've posted here before and the following are a list of things I have done already: Remove all custom mods (deleted 2x German warbird cockpits) Run DCS_updater repair in slow mode Update my Nvidia Geforce 4070 driver (updated to 2024.05 version) Run mem86 test for at least 1 hour (no errors found) Check BIOS XMP is disabled Run Windows commands to check for disk issues (corrupt files fixed) Set Nvidia graphics card performance to max performance Today I ran the P-51D instant actions and in both missions, when I was either recovering from a Split-S or a dive bombing, DCS crashed. The first time it crashed to my desktop. The second time it crashed and my desktop rebooted. These are the same kind of errors I've experienced before running the 6 steps above and the crashing to desktop happens also when I'm on multiplayer server. This is making me dread flying in DCS now. I'd really appreciate anyone who can help out. Thank you. (Logs are attached) dcs_crashtorestart.log dcs_crashtodesktop.log

[Help Needed] I have been experiencing a lot of crashes recently
AerialTeddy replied to AerialTeddy's topic in Game Crash
So what I did: I've updated my graphics card driver (Nvidia Geforce 4070) to the May release I've run the sfc command to check Windows files. Files repaired. I've run the chkdsk command on DCS drive. All good. Still crashed (the above-mentioned 2 logs were after this). What I did then: I've run mem86 tests for 1 hour straight without errors. I've checked that XMP is not enabled on my PC BIOS. I've done: NVIDIA GPU: in the NVCP, set Power Management Mode to "Prefer maximum performance". (new) I've rename “Saved Games/DCS.../Config/options.lua” to "options.lua.bak". I've rename your whole “Saved Games/DCS…" folder to “DCS.bak" (you will need to login - your custom settings are now stored in the "DCS.bak" folder -do NOT delete it). Still don't know if it works without more crashes/restarts on multiplayer server. -

Crashed again unfortunately. This time it forced my desktop to restart without notification. dcs.log -

Updated. Will check if the crashes are not as frequent. Thanks for now! -
I have experienced a lot of crashes on single player instant actions or missions. And I can't seem to decipher why the error in the log occurs. What I have done: Run DCS_updater repair and select the slow version Removed all mods (1x Bf 109 cockpit and 1x Fw 190 D-9 cockpit) The error still happened just now when I was on a multiplayer server. And that was the last straw so I decided to check the logs. However, I don't fully understand what those functions or traces mean so I want to ask here. I do use an AITrack headtrack from time to time with OpenTrack for headtracking. The crashes happen often when I move my head a bit fast but that could be coincidental. Main chunk of the error is as below and the file is attached as well. Any tips would be highly appreciated! Why is it up to ED to resolve the issue or else you'd boycott ED? This is a RAZBAM AND ED issue and there's no verdict on if ED is on the wrong side. As far as many can see, ED has played by the book. -
Would love if this could be packaged like Pato's Dora cockpit mod so we can install it inside liveries and turn it on via the Special option.
