I've got everything for ACLS in order, like the TACAN, ILS, ACL, Datalink and so on. And I did engage ATC CPL P/R successfully 6 nm away from the carrier, and the descent was smooth and pleasant for most of the time. But just as I got really close to the carrier (like 0.5 nm), the autopilot suddenly gave me strange pitches, and got me landing heavily in front of the first wire. So by the time I went into the landing area, I was level on my three wheels, with the hook in the air, resulting in a failed landing.
To make things clearer, I was flying the Case III recovery singleplayer mission in the Persian Gulf.
