  1. I will accept this as long as the AI Mig-29s are now oblivious to AMRAAM/Phoenix/any ARH shots from behind/BVR that they won't visually ID. If I'm in an Su-33 or MiG-29S and launch an R-77 at it, it should likewise be ignorant. They should fly along dumb and happy and let the missiles impact them. Giving AI MiG-29As better SA and tools than the human players is inconsistent. As it is it seems the AI R-27Rs beat human launched ones in accuracy/PK/ability to maintain lock by a huge factor as well. THAT is what irritates me most. If you're giving me a reasonably accurate MiG-29, don't give the AI a simcade version! Obviously an early 1980s MiG-29 is totally outclassed by 21st century jets and missiles. So don't give the AI a late-upgraded MiG-29A that is more survivable but insist on us having a period-accurate one. That means the MiG-29 is only usable against F-14A/Viper/Hornet pre-1990/pre-AMRAAM with the AIM54 the only realistic "super weapon" allowed. Fine for a period-specific mission in a campaign or single mission, useless in something like a Foothold/TTI/etc MP server. The OTHER solution is a toggle. "Realistic" MiG-29A for those accurate scenarios, "upgraded" MiG-29As like those in service just before they were retired that are simply allowed to detect/jam 21st century jets for mixed era MP servers...which I guess would mean using the Flaming Cliffs MiG-29A RWR? Otherwise, it's just saying "no REDFOR jets but FC ones are survivable against the current teen-series fighters, sorry!" The MiG-29A was designed against F-15A/F-16A/F/A-18A, not what we have in DCS. A real threat to the F-4E and an F-14A if closer than 20 miles, but otherwise completely outclassed target practice unless you sneak WVR. There's a reason they were either retired or upgraded and not still in use in 1980's setup in 2025, just like the F-4Es.
  2. So my group is doing one of those Foothold/TTI missions on Sinai, I forget what it's called, and I've got a new problem since the update yesterday. In the AH-64 CPG seat, using TIR 5, if I have the mirror on and/or TEDAC showing TADS, and I pan my head around, I get awful stuttering and frame drops. I have the ctrl-Pause graph up and you can see the wild fluctuations and heavy drops at the same time. If I turn the mirror and TEDAC off, or set the TEDAC to FCR or HMD or anything not showing a live video picture, no issues with panning. If I disable the TIR and pan using the keys on the keyboard, no issues with panning. In both cases, I will STILL see some fluctuations in the FPS but not as severe and there is no stuttering like using TIR causes. If I generate a SP mission in the QAG in Sinai, same area just west of the Suez near Az Azazaq or whatever the field is called, I can turn everything on and pan with TEDAC and mirror on, no issues with panning or even FPS drops. I don't use TADS display in rear cockpit when I'm there, so I didn't experience it in pilot seat and I forgot to toggle its mirror. Granted I am not running the mission locally in SP, only when online, but last week, identical setup and mission (we fly Wednesday nights), not one problem. Also, two others in my group are using the AH-64 and reported no issues, but I don't think they use TIR 5. One I think uses VR and the other I don't recall what they use. So TLDR the combination is MP Foothold/TTI Sinai, AH-64 CPG seat, TIR 5, TEDAC showing TADS/mirror on, panning using my head is a game-stopper it's so awful. Disable the TIR OR the TEDAC/mirror OR play SP and it's fine. One thing I did not get to test was I have both track clip reflector and track clip pro IR lights, depending on whether I'm wearing my headset or using speakers. Last night during the MP mission and during my testing in SP I was using the Trackclip Pro IR lights. I do not yet know if the reflector track clip would exhibit the same results and I'll need to wait till NEXT Wednesday when the server is running again to check.
