Thanks to all those who have suggested ideas to help fix or at least lessen the impact of this bug...as that is what it is. I have sent all of the requested files in to ED several times now and they either can't find the problem or it isn't a priority (both maybe). Believe me when I say that I've tried everything and spent far too much time trying to rectify this state of affairs without success. I've been with DCS since the very first pre-order of the A-10 and have rarely had any game/sim stopping bugs or problems but this one just ruins the immersion for me as the 'jaggies' both in cockpit and with the scenery and shadows are very bad, I'm certain MSAA is not working at all for certain users and only partially for others. AMD users seem to be having more problems than Nvidia. For me this situation started with version 2.9.6 and as I've mentioned previously going back to 2.9.5 fixes the Jaggies. I have hardly played DCS since version 2.9.6 and that is a big deal for me as I love the game/sim...but ED, that is it for me now! I will patiently await the release of IL2 Korea and see how it goes.

My original post was made around 7 months ago regarding this problem with MSAA and it's still so bad that the sim is unplayable even in 4k. For those saying there isn't a problem why does reverting to an earlier version fix this non-existent bug? 2.9.5 works...2.9.6 does not! I use an AMD 7900XTX and have spent many many hours trying to sort things out but to no avail. I have invested a lot of time and money in to DCS and as I mentioned earlier have only fired the sim up to check if there has been a fix after an update but after 7 months...nothing!

Can I ask Eagle Dynamics if they are still looking in to this problem?...I gave up playing months ago and have given up with the game/sim altogether for some time now as it's too ugly to play. Cant you even attempt to fix TAA? MSAA still not working at all...Yes, I've tried everything including a full re-install! The only thing that works is reverting to the earlier version as mentioned in my earlier post. This indicates that the problem is NOT at my end. Thanks.

I have all of the above problems with my AMD 7900xtx. Your screen shots show the 'jaggies' quite well but the very bad shimmering when in flight even in 4k shows that MSAA is not working for some of us. TAA is not an option for me either, too blurry and very bad ghosting. I have spent many hours trying to solve this problem and I hope there is a solution soon as I'm not flying in DCS at all at the moment.

Already sent everything in including my lua options file and logs. Special K was looking at this for me but not heard of a solution as yet. I still have this problem and have reverted to 2.9.5 as it's currently too ugly on 2.9.6. It's as though MSAA is not working at all in both cockpit and external views, horizontal lines in the distance are especially bad. It is working fine and looks very good in 2.9.5 I pre-ordered the SW Afghanistan map but discovered you need 2.9.6 to run it. I have tried different graphics drivers, emptying fxo and metashaders folders, emptied graphics card shaders...so many hours on this! : /

As above since latest update. Reverting to previous version cures this problem for me. The new update is extremely ugly for me even on a 42" LG OLED. I'm guessing that this is an MSAA problem maybe for AMD users, anyone else with shimmering with the new update? System specs are:- 7800x3D, 7900xtx, 32gb ram. Latest AMD drivers. Tried everything but the only fix is to revert to the previous version.

Anyone else? Checked out the new Afghanistan and South Atlantic maps and both are ugly to say the least. South Atlantic was beautiful before this patch. I have a 7800X3d, 7900XTX, 32gb ram, Windows 11 and am running in 4k on an LG C3 42" TV/Monitor. MSAA x4, AF x16. It's almost like MSAA isn't working at all : / Edit:- Tried on other maps and they look the same. Aircraft in external view covered in 'jaggies'. Is MSAA 'borked' for any other AMD users? Some of my aircraft control mappings have been reset : / Tried the f-16 in Afghanistan free flight and there is an uncontrollable 'pitch' of the aircraft up in this scenario. I checked my axis settings and all seems ok. New patch a bit of a disaster for me so far.
