Bit of a late reply, but using OVGME;
create config > config root folder = DCS Standalone root > config mods folder = downloaded mods > import mods if needed.
Then select 'SilenceWingmen' (You'll have to create the folder to put the attached file in) then select in OVGME enable/ toggle and it'll overwrite the file with the one attached.
To disable and restore original just toggle/disable again.
The attached file has the callouts with 'nil' which I believe effectively mutes the callouts, without having to turn down the headset volume (which for me and the A10 gets rid of the AIM 9x tone etc).
