  1. Yes. It only occurs with Lomac, Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs. The card works fine in everything else. 3D Mark Vantage and other games work fine.
  2. Thanks for the help guys. I seem to be the only one with this issue. I've uploaded a screenshot. Hardware is E8400 CPU running stock, 8 GB RAM, Powercolor 5870 1GB, Motherboard Asus P5K-E with latest BIOS. 700W power supply. OS is Windows 7 64 bit (have tried on XP but same issue). I have tried the following without success: re-installed Catalyst drivers. re-installed Flaming cliffs. Tried running Oroginal Lomac, flaming cliffs 1.1 and 2 and black shark - issue is on all of them. Tried on Windows 7 and Windows XP. Issue on both. Reinstalled Catalyst drivers. Played around with the Catalyst 3d settings. Nothing seems to make any difference. Reseated the card.
  3. Hi, I have this annoying problem with clouds appearing blocky which nobody else seems to be having. I've tried every version of Lock-on, Flaming Cliffs and Black shark and I get the problem. I've tried new drivers, and running on Win XP and Windows 7 OS. I now think it's hardware, and am about to RMA my graphics card. I'm running a Powercolor HD 5870 1GB and an ASUS P5K-E motherboard. I'm not sure if its the combination of the two which is the problem. If you have a HD 5870 and Flaming Cliffs 2 running ok on your rig could you please just help me out by posting your model of HD5870 graphics card and motherboard so that I know which HD 5870 and motherboards work ok. Thanks a lot.
  4. Ok, roll forward 5 months and I am have installed Flaming Cliffs 2. I am on Catalyst Drivers 10.3. I am still getting the blocky clouds issue. Anyone else with a 5870 seen this? Anyone fixed it?
  5. I've checked my AF settings. I don't have the option for High Quality AF. I'm also running with a 700 Watt power supply so I'm pretty sure I can rule out power supply issues. I'm pretty sure this is a driver issue as I'm having problems with one or two other games. I guess I'll have to wait and see if a driver update fixes it. Also interested to know if other 5870 users are getting this problem.
  6. Where do I find the high QF Check option? Is this in Catalyst control centre ? I can't see anything called QF Check.
  7. No problems at all in other games, or windows desktop.
  8. Tried AA 4X and I still get the problem. Also disabled AI. Still get the problem.
  9. Hi, I am getting this strange effect where the edges of clouds appear blocky when looking out of the side windows of the cockpit. Anyone else got it working on with the Radeon 5870? Here are my Specs: Flaming Cliffs 1.12b Windows 7 64bit 8GB RAM Core 2 Duo E8400 Radeon 5870. I tried turning AA on and off and disabling Catalyst AI and it made no difference. Any suggestions?
  10. Well, I've tried fiddling with graphics.cfg. Different values don't help. I haven't tried the runway mod. I'm scared I'll lose a license key if I install it. I did get rid of 99% (very thin line left) of it by running the game on HIGH detail. The trouble is, it ran like a dog. This is only a minor issue. Just irritates me a lot.
  11. Hi, I get some graphic corruption around the edge of aircraft pits when parked up or taxying. Here is an example: http://www.zen9438.zen.co.uk/LockOn/ScreenShot_002.jpg Look at the bottom of the left and right windows. I am Running 1152 * 564 with 2X AA and AF. I have the seasons pack installed. 1.1 was installed on top of a clean install of 1.0. My build is: AMD Athlon 3500 Galaxy 6800 GT Latest NVidia 71.84 drivers 1 GB RAM XP Pro SP2 I have run without AA and AF and get the same problem. I have put older drivers in (66.93) and still same problem. I have run in 1024 * 768 and still same problem. Any ideas? Neil
