  1. Also, Karlskrona naval base was centre to a famous cold war incident when on Oct 27 1981 the Soviet Whiskey-class submarine U-137 (Soviet designation S-363) ran aground just outside the fleet base, creating a tense situation as the Soviet navy steamed towards the Swedish territorial water border, with the Swedish armed forces in full alert and the Karlskrona coastal artillery firing live warning shots to demonstrate full intent to respond to a trespassing of the border.
  2. Super excited for this map, a no-brainer zero-day buy! But seeing the phase 2 and 3 limits and how Scania in southernmost Sweden is cut diagonally as if intentionally cutting out the most significant southern Swedish cold war bases breaks my heart, and I just have to make a humble wish. The diagonal line just cuts out the main cold war Scanian air wing and the nearby combat flight school (also commanding e.g. light attack squadrons), although the Phase 3 line does in fact appear to (just) include an auxiliary strip and the nearby roadbase. But lets break down how little Phase 3 would need to be extended to include a significant portion of southern Sweden's cold war air and fleet forces: F10 Ängelholm-Barkåkra (ESDB), the main air wing of southernmost sweden during the cold war, and a prominent home to AJS37 Viggen which we have in game. F5 Ljungbyhed (ESTL, formerly ESDA), at the time home to the south swedish air combat school, also in command of two light attack squadrons of SK60B (which also happens to be available in game, albeit as an excellent mod) Seemingly within the line (just barely) we have Sjöbo-Björka (ESFJ), Sweden's first "modern" purpose built military airfield built in 1939, and during the cold war acted as an aux. field under F10, and just nearby the associated Sjöbo-Tågra roadbase strip , added in 1958; both mentioned in the public history report of historical Swedish air bases FORTV 2007:1 and other public history sources. F17 Ronneby-Kallinge (ESDF) which also flew the Viggen, is just north east of the cut off part and a major site for defence of the southern Baltic, and just next to... Karlskrona naval base, the most significant fleet base in southernmost Sweden during the cold war, and key to the southern Baltic invasion defence I realize the focus of the map is entirely NATO vs. Warsaw Pact in divided Germany in a timeframe where Sweden was nominally neutral, but let's face it: this is the closest we're ever going to get to that southern Baltic map that was discussed years ago already, and there are multiple interesting sites only just outside the planned area which operated Viggen (and SK60), whose main AO would have been the southern Baltic. So, FOR THE LOVE OF ${DEITY.local}, PLEASE include F10 Ängelholm and the strip extending over F17 Kallinge and Karlskrona into Phase 3! It is a metric <profanity>-ton of Viggen potential literally thrown into the Baltic sea if none of it is included. Cheers, (oo)Piglet
