  1. My problem is doing zero-visibility landings. Just flying a few circles around Rota seemed to make my ILS bug out. The assigned heading started pointing away from the airfield and into the void. I flew towards it for over 30nm checking if it might update on its own but nothing. How can I do the more challenging instrument landings when I can't trust my instruments?
  2. I thought that's what low fidelity means. Simplified avionics. I know it uses the highest quality flight physics, but don't all ED planes? This is a lot of nuance so I will have to practice at one airfield at a time and see if all the weird, confusing behavior makes sense or if there are any actual bugs left. Thanks a lot, it's going to take me a while to report back though...
  3. Ah <profanity>, my bad.
  4. Huh? It's not a beta product, it's just a low fidelity module.
  5. I can't figure out how it works. Often the assigned heading points at the airfield but sometimes it just doesn't. Then sometimes when trying to switch to NAV I get a bank steering index but it still says ILS and I can't seem to switch out of it. Then there is the issue of getting to the approach fix. Am I really expected to use a stop-watch to tell how far I have flown? Because F10 is just cheating and not part of the aircraft. And then there is the issue of trying to figure out which ILS channel belongs to which airfield.
  6. Please make the FF module a retrofitted F-15!
  7. When you flip the "attitude" switch, the "autopilot" light lights up on the right board. But when you flip the "ALtitude" switch, the "ATTitude" light lights up.
  8. That's giving me hope. I already ordered the pedals but they are on backorder, so I'm still twisting. Let's hope I get rid of that reflex easily enough.
  9. Hmm, I wonder if there are ways to make an AR/VR hybrid where you put markers on your MFDs the glasses can recognize and phase out the game picture in those spots to let you see your actual cockpit.
  10. VR already is a square peg people use to stick into the round hole of control panels, it seems to me. Things only get improved when there are people who don't remain satisfied with the status quo. What's a pancake player?
  11. I would just like it to work together better, especially for that kind of money. I have seen someone use the knobs and switches in the virtual cockpit by picking up those weird location tracker sticks, but that also seems awkward. Maybe one day they manage to implement support for haptic gloves, though maybe what bothers me the most about this setup is how after buying those really cool cockpit pieces I don't even get to look at them and read off of them, but instead less-nice-looking virtual versions on my VR screen.
  12. What do you mean by "custom tilt"? I have only tried it with my VKB Gladiator but it makes a difference. The manual says you are not supposed to twist the stick which makes sense to me if they are really using PS/2 connectors.
  13. But then you are using all that stuff blind and out of synch with where you are looking. Seems as much as immersion booster as an immersion killer to me. Ok so using both is still the most immersive solution then? Too bad they cannibalize each other like that. I hope someone comes up with a solution for that.
  14. The real F-15 and F/A-18 sticks are offset by like 30° so that you can hold them without awkwardly twisting your wrist, since they are center-mounted. Winwing says their stick is meant to be center-mounted too but I don't see the offset and asking their CS they just said "go read the manual", which has no info on it.
