Ugh, how frustrating!
-
No joy reverting them to default, unfortunately. R CTRL+numpad 0 sticks the view bound to LWIN + numpad 0 now, pressing any other snapview beyond that is only momentary.

I do not have headtracking devices. (I've also tried deleting the SnapView.lua)

I apologize for the flurry of questions coming back to DCS. I've been able to successfully save snap views on the A-10 to where I like them, binding them simply to the numpad keys (removed the R CTRL modifier). What I'm having trouble with is getting snap views to stick. I press the R CTRL+numpad 0 combo to supposedly enable toggling snap views. It will stick to the snap view I have bound to numpad 0, but no other snap views toggle. I have to hold down the associated numpad key to view them. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

These are the axis options I see. However the "absolute camera" option seems to immediately snap back to the center (which I don't want). Literally just want to use the left thumbstick to translate the center viewpoint, with triggers to move up/down.

Thanks. Seems like "Cockpit Camera Move xxx" are the controls I'm looking for. Can that be bound to an axis? e.g. left Xbox control thumbstick.
-
That’s correct, the controller is recognized in game easily. I’m trying to figure out what specific view commands I need to map it to. Simply to position my head. The descriptions in the controls are confusing to me, and trial and error hasn’t worked after several hours. Head tracking isn’t in my budget right now, unfortunately. Will plan on using mouse look in the interim to pivot around. Just need to find a way to translate the eyepoint forward/back/up/down/lateral periodically.

Hello all, As I mentioned from some of my other recent threads, I'm coming back to DCS after about 9 years. Since I don't have headtracking (I know, I'm at a disadvantage), is there a way to map an Xbox 360 controller to move the camera/eyepoint? Particularly, I'd like to use the left thumbstick to move the camera forward, backward, and laterally, with the left and right trigger to move the eyepoint up or down? I can't quite figure out what keys or axis to bind this to in the options. Thank you.

Coming back to DCS - FPS drop/stutter (even on menu)

Same, I've tried all low/off settings and still see this FPS drop/stutter in game and in the front menu. -
Coming back to DCS - FPS drop/stutter (even on menu)

It's currently set to system managed. That post suggests: So I should just leave it that way, or? -
Hello all, I purchased the A-10C way back at its initial release about 9 years ago. Unfortunately, I hung it up after about a month or two since I didn't have any head-tracking and only use an X52. Well I still don't have any head-tracking and only use an X52 with an Xbox controller, but figured I'd give the "new and evolved" DCS a try with the A-10C module again. And see if I can fumble through it with X52, Xbox controller, and keyboard, maybe with mouse look. Anyway, to my main question: I'm running an i7 7700k @ 4.8, 1080 Ti, 16 GB RAM, with a 144 Hz G-SYNC panel. With most settings medium-high, I can run 120+ FPS smooth for about 3 seconds. Then my FPS will drop to about 20-30 just momentarily, and recover. This oscillation causes a stutter (long frames, really) that gets completely in the way of flying. Even on the main menu, FPS appears to be solid at 50...but the same drop to about 20 appears every approximate 3 seconds. I've tried settings to the lowest possible, uninstalling anti-virus (just for troubleshooting), turning hyperthreading off, stopping every process I can think of, deleting fxo and shaders folders, and messing with processor affinity/priority. V-SYNC & G-SYNC on and off as well. It seems a few have experienced this, without a smoking gun per se. Does anyone have any recent thoughts or may be able to help? Thank you. PS I did see some murmurings about an Intruder in DCS World someday. Boy, that would be so perfect.

I have the exact same issues with my X52 Pro if I bump the cable or unplug it.

Fantastic news!

I, too, would be looking for a group who are active, professional, and personable (preferably North America). I recall seeing someone use the term "adopt-a-noob" recently and I'm essentially looking for something similar. Had A-10 since it's official release but only really started getting the hang of things over the past two weeks. I'd be looking for an environment that might be able to train some of the advanced aspects of the game...particularly large group missions, defense against anti-air units, advanced locating targets/navigation, and I definitely need to just brush up on CCIP and unguided weapons. Basically someone who is just getting their footing a little past the basics. Feel free to PM me as well, thanks!

Again, thank you very much for this video. Very helpful.
