Hi and thanks :) Yep, that's how I see it. Release mode is entirely independent of any post release guidance. You can indeed drop GBUs in CCIP, and then still lase them in. JDAMs for whatever reason will only do CCRP.

I believe CCIP is the default release mode for any weapon capable of both CCIP and CCRP. LGBs are capable of being dropped in CCIP but JDAMS are not hence the default being CCRP? Correct me if I'm wrong.
