Hi all, This looks like it sounds familiar on these forums. Before last week I'd never heard of this awesome simulator. I'd honestly given up on PC flight sims feeling that they'd really fallen off the radar over the past 10 years. Keeping in mind I'd missed Black Shark for some reason. After reading a review for A-10C my jaw dropped. I'd been an armchair pilot of combat sims since the early 90's flying F-15 Strike Eagle, Falcon, Gunship and more. I even had some of the original Thrustmaster controllers, the best being the F-16 stick they brought out.
Up until last week I didn't even feel the need for a flight stick since I wasn't playing anything that required it. After seeing the reviews of A-10C I bought it, my jaw dropped. Also picked up Black Shark. I went out and grabbed a Cyborg Fly5 stick, just because I didn't wanna invest an arm and a leg into this just yet, lol. I did pick up a TrackIR and LOVE it. Been using hat controllers on flight sticks for 20 years but it just never felt natural. TrackIR is just amazing.
My question is in regards to setting it up right. I noticed when I'm running A-10C (Steam version) that the TrackIR software picks the Black Shark profile and not the A-10C. I do have the 5.1 version of the software and the newest game database loaded into it. I dunno if this is part of the only problem I seem to have with TrackIR. It works great for looking around the front dash, but if I need to get a closer look at the panels to my left and right (where the pilots arms would be) I have a hell of a time getting close to them. I'm using the default settings on the TrackIR software.
Again, love the sim! Looking forward to learning to really fly this bird. :)
