  1. Wow. Just got TrackIR 5 in the mail with the pro clip and the difference in gameplay is amazing. I'm going to have to go back to all my previous sims/driving/ARMA games and see the difference. This has brought immersion to a new level!
  2. I was looking through the list of aircraft and I noticed that they have the E-2D listed. Being an E-2C NFO I was curious if I can expect to see the Delta in game at any point being used for ABCCC or AEW. As an aside, it's interesing that they decided to go with the Delta vice Charlie since the Delta isn't due to be operational for the next few years.
  3. Thanks for the advice, I will definitely give it some extra time. Should be here tomorrow or the day after so we will see what happens.
  4. I actually went ahead and ordered a track IR set since it seems as if a lot of the setups assume you have it. Why not spend a couple hundred dollars! Either way, I'm starting to get much more comfortable with the setup. The tutorials are excellent in showing you what you need to know to get you started. I have been focusing primarily on the quick missions just to get used to setting things up in flight. Anything tips on what I should expect when I get the Track IR set? I see it mentioned all the time but I don't know one that actually owns it so I haven't been able to check it out myself. Being and E-2C NFO, acronyms such as SOI and SPI are actually new to me. In my years in Naval Aviation I have found that a lot of brevity terms really don't carry across from service to service. We were actually talking to a tanker on the boulevard during OEF and he hadn't even heard of a 99 call. Things are becoming much more "Combined" and "Joint" oriented though so brevity terms are quickly becoming more and more common. Hopefully I can spread some Naval Aviation love to the forums if you don't already have someone here. Look forward to talking to you all.
  5. Recently picked up this sim and wanted to say how impressed I am by the realism that I have seen so far. I am an E-2C Hawkeye NFO and, being fairly new to military flight sims, hearing a CAS 9-line line from the JTAC was pretty crazy. Working in the ABCCC world, I was interested to see how a flight simulator would handle it and so far I am pretty optimistic. In fact it will be interesting to see how far it will go before hitting the classified ceiling. Again, I am loving what I am seeing so far and look forward to seeing more. Now all I have to do is figure out how to configure my controller to handle all these key commands! Look forward to hearing from you all.
