  1. Fly an A-10C.

In all seriousness, there isn't much you can do at the moment. I'd recommend getting your mates to fly a SEAD role, or flying with several wingmen to decoy the SAMs while you make your strike or vice versa.

Flying low and using the terrain to your advantage also works as well as it can. I manage sometimes to roll out of terrain cover and make a burner, low level bombing pass on SAMs, but only if you have an exact bead on where they are.

  2. G'day folks, anyone had any luck with refueling at night? For the life of me, trying to find a probe light. According to NATOPS manual, it's controlled in master capacity by moving the Exterior Light Master Switch to FWD, however I'm still not seeing a probe light. What am I missing?

  3. G'day all,

I've had it sitting around for a little bit as I upgraded to the 1080ti, but this card still holds it own within all applications you put it to. Recently cleaned and always stored in anti-static bag, ready for a new home.

I paid approx 970 USD new about 18 months ago - Asking $550 AUD negotiable (Approximately 410 USD) - Happy to ship worldwide at buyers expense.

Pictures upon request as I am away from home. Located Brisbane. Australia. :pilotfly:

  4. Will the tomcat be 2.5 only? Or will there be a version compatible with 1.5.8?

Based on my understanding of ED's releases, 1.5.8 will become obsolete upon the 2.5 release to stable branch, presumably in the next month or so.

So, in saying that, I'd suggest that they will release it for 2.5 as that will be the stable platform.

  5. That would be a nice addition, would be a lot of fun to fly and fight with. However, I'm not holding my breath, as I think they will stick to the training niche for it.

  6. Initially, I was a little bit confused regarding this decision to implement this airplane. But what I forgot and quickly realized, was the fidelity and potential the DCS Engine holds. I'm not sure about the scope of this potential or what the future will hold, but it's always been my desire to see a civilian flight simulator (not unlike XP11, FSX or P3D) but with the same fidelity of flight modelling that we have all come to love in the DCS community.

Maybe I'm off on a completely different tangent to what is relevant, but that's just my two cents.

I'll buy this, as the love of aviation isn't conditional and if it's something built on passion, it deserves to exist so that others can enjoy it as well.

  7. It is 99% a P-38.

Picture shows nose, part of the cockpit, right prop blade and right wing. left engine is in the background. The "nose doors" for rearming are open/not mounted so that the guns and ammunition supply can be seen:

That was my thought as well. About 12 months ago there was a lot of discussion and speculation about it.

However, I've been wrong before and the hype for whatever they announce is real.

    :)
