OK So i apparently am stupid and can't figure this out? I have a 4 core intel..what do i put after affinity mask to use cores 3 and 4
-
Same here but iirc it worked by running the app as admin
tried as admin, still see kneeboard preferences greyed out.
-
Hey, looking forward to use this, however I fly in VR and need to move the KB position, unfortunately the Options Kneeboard preferences is greyed out for me. I use a Steam install if that matters, I have put the install location and my saved games folder in the settings.

Sorry, I'm Referencing the Oculus Rift, CV1 version, same visuals, was my meaning..
Which is why i said DK2 and not rift, no worries we all make mistakes :)

No "maybe" about it. It's apples and oranges in many ways. YouTube doesn't even render at 90Hz for a start.
90 hz isnt a measure of resolution, You absolutely *can* use youtube as a basis for comparing resolutions when the resolution shown in at least one of the videos is lower than the played resolution(dk2) and lower than the resolution used to view it(i assume 1080p or 1440p) Is it ideal? no, is it reliable? not entirely you'd need to use the same computer, same recording software etc.
But knowing that the vive has roughly double the resolution of the dk2(single 1080P panel vs 2 1080p panels) combined with a quite noticeable difference in readability and clarity of things like text in the dials in the two videos the difference can quite easily be attributed to the much increased resolution of the vive vs DK2
LOL, no sorry, it doesn't work that way...:)No, the Rift and Vive visuals are the same, if you got like 20/10 vision maybe you to could tell a difference, but those years are long gone for me.
If your not decided on which platform to purchase it really should be for other reasons, such as total budget, what you can afford, what are your intended uses and such. Remember the VR headset is only one component of a complete system. And for many to get effective use of VR, it's gonna mean a new complete system. For many peoples the Rift will be the better choice just because you may need, or want to improve your current system within your budget. And keep in mind the HTC Vive will not come with surround sound headsets.
I'm specifically going for the HTC Vive because of the Lighthouse Technologies for my specific purposes and it is within our budget allocation for a completely new system package.
uh..no the DK2 and the vive do not have the same visuals. the DK2 has a single 1080p panel for both eyes vs the CV1 and vive having a 1080p panel for each eye. double the resolution. at least(if not more since the screen can be positioned more closely the center of each eye and not having to have as large a black unrendered spot in the center)
-
Maybe it was the small screen off to the side. God I hope so. But I didn't get the WOW feeling. Actually, if I'm honest, I was a bit disappointed.
Watch this video, then compare to his video, you can tell how much higher resolution the Vive is compared to the dk2

After that review, I would not get a Vive, DCS World, a computer, a HOTAS, or a beard either....lol.....:megalol:, think I'd just take up drinking and golf....
(but, at least the guy tried..)
But, one thing I did notice that he didn't say anything about was, nor did I see any noticeable evidence of, was stuttering or low FPS drops, which is a concern in general for DCS World in VR, no matter which platform you go with. Nor any complaints about poor performance with DCS World in VR. That is good news.
Sad that as far as I can find this is the only DCS World + HTC Vive video put out...
It could be the recording only as well, its very common when recording for there to be some studder/breaks as files are saved a new or just performance drops in general with the recording taking the low man on the totem pole and lagging even if other things do not.

That video really shows how much better resolution the vive is than dk2. This is going to be amazing

I have owned the DK1, Three DK2's, Gear VR innovator edition and consumer edition. I have also pre-ordered 2 Oculus CV-1's. I want to get the Vive also but I'm going to wait and see on that one. In the end I think the experience with Oculus CV1 and the Vive will probably be identical as far as DCS is concerned.
The one and only thing that made me chose the vive is I was worried about constantly loosing tracking with the headset, I have a track ir with about the best set up possible for range of movement and felt like i still lost tracking more than i would have liked. I am sure it wont be much of an issue, but I was willing to spend more to make sure I got something that would work in that regard

Hey guys I just found this and did a quick search on shapeways(since Film mentioned on the first page he might put it up there as well) and he DID so you can still buy this part

Not sure what the plan for the 3d printer is either but if the design can be moved over it might help speed up production.
even if you only use them to help speed up the 3d printing, though they might be able to help with other stuff too

They look like nice enough guys, do you think they would deliver? :D
I assume that is why it has wheels right?:joystick:

One thing you could do is export the image to two different places on your main monitor one at 640X480 and one at 800X600 this will give you an idea of how much more detail the 800X600 would give you and see if it is worth the cost.

I have used Steam for several years and the only glitches I can remember causing an inability to play a game was about an hour long snafu with Batman Arkham Asylum CD keys
-
that is pretty good resolution, I would recommend an 8 inch display though then you can add a MFD panel to it.
-
Deadman, for the gear handle if you cast two separate pieces that would snap together or could be screwed together would that work? you could put red LEDs in the gear handle and if they ever go out just replace them, would also make assembly much easier and if the separation point was hidden in one of the grooves it wouldnt be much of an issue.

I am also curious, are these still available?
-
oh well that makes a ton of sense..thanks!

Might be dumb question..but why is the target's elevation important in a 9 line CAS request?

Love the concept with 1 pretty important criticism.
As someone who uses the X55 in VR, I had to change the pot covers to something that had a little nub so I could easily feel where the pot was in relation to "0" without this you have to rely entirely on feedback from in the sim making it much less "eyes off" your controls.
