  1. Yes it does not crash if you use a different port. Or on lan. So, will ED fix this issue? I notice much fewer servers on the listing now. Maybe others getting attacked too? It is much easier to use the listing board than to pass out IP and Port Oh well at least we see the problem maybe.
  2. You might be right! I can run lan game with no crash. I can run multiplayer internet game with no crash if I change the port number. So, today I change both my IP and port and try it. My team can connect direct IP and not use the listing board. So far it works fine and no crash. I hate to think someone out there attacking server, but this sounds like the most logical problem from all the time I put into troubleshooting this. If I do not use the regular port all is fine and no crashing on protect.dll
  3. I am trying to run it for a while on LAN to see if in fact it helps not being on internet. I can always have my people connect directly like you mention on another port if the game allows it.
  4. I have same issue
  5. I have been battling this problem for a month. I have read every thread I can find on this problem. I know it is not hardware, because I have tried to use 3 different computers to run a FC2 server. I did a clean install of windows 7 ultimate each time. I tried every fix I could read on this forum. DCS blackshark has the same problem. The server will run for about 1 day. Then I get a constant appcrash fault module protect.dll. I have tried everything too much to list here. I am about to give up. I have run this before without any problems. Now it will not run at all. it starts, runs for about a minute, then appcrash every time. Yesterday it ran for 12 hours just fine. There is nothing on the system but FC2 1.2.1, modman, phantom controls. I have used this configuration in the past and it ran just fine for months and months. I use autohotkey to launch everything. I have reinstalled and reinstalled and rebuilt 3 entire computers and still the same result. Nothing hooked up but keyboard and mouse. Has anyone here had this and solved it? Its not UAC, I have tried everything suggested here and I have spent hours trawling through these threads. I am so sick of this I could puke. I am trying to keep a server up for my entire flight team http://www.virtualsnowbirds.com I am about to just give up. I am an IT pro and have NEVER had so much trouble getting software to run. I have run a server for LOMAC, FC1, FC2 for years without a problem until now. Something has changed and I don't know what. I even bought a CD version thinking I could avoid the starforce activation, but no. Now I have 2 copies of FC2 and still the same problem. What a waste.
