Just like me... And if we are talking about modern fighters, the Mirage F1 (that actually I will fly on DCS with a lot, really a lot of pleasure) made her first flight on december 1966, and is not longer on service with any NATO or major Air Force, so dont´know if it fits like a modern one.

What a sad accident..... Looks like, from the info that the Spanish Air Force is giving, that the crash happend when a Greeck two-seater F-16 lost power during the take off, causing the aircraft loss of control and crashed to the ground on a turn. It fells on the flight line, full of people getting the jets ready for the day, and it kills 10 men/women. The two pilots, and eight french militaries, three pilots and five ground crew, were killed and 21 were badly wounded, all of them italian and french militaries. At least five other aircrafts were seriously damaged or destroyed, seems they were french Mirage 2000/Alpha-Jet and italian AMX. I will include a illustration from El Pais, a spanish journal, that show what happend. It is a very unlucky event and a very violent accident. My condolences to all who suffer today.

Future I hope, and it is not likely Juan Oscar is so bored this days that he wants to edit and post here a spanish movie from the 60´s to just share his love for the seventh art. And it is not likely that they are working on a T-33, nor a super-detailed spanish skin for the Sabre. So it is fair to assume that next Aviodev´s project is gonna be a F-104G, and it make me quiet happy. You surprised me, I had the feeling that the F-1 was next, but it doesn´t matters, it will come next. And don´t let the mystery last too long, your section on the forum can get burned down¡¡¡¡ Great surprise.

As said before I deeply respect your opinion about this. I just wanted to point my opinion, that is different from yours and others, and point that to me, it is a shame to blur the good work that some people is doing to, finally, give us a deeply and professionally simulated combat simulator with a big array of different aircrafts and helicopters to fit everyone´s taste, wich is fabulous¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ That´s all. Personally, I don´t like marketing, nor economy. I enjoy more while learnig or reading aviation stuff, so I will not visit this thread much more. Thank you for your reply.

Ok , with all respsct for yours, this is my opinion. We are talking about a hobby here, so something not vital. So we can assume that everyone has his basic economics needs covered, and with the extra money we have we decied to invest on a high quality simulator instead of, let´s say, some good clothing, a weekend on the mountains, a weekly visit to the cinema, a subscription to a gym or whatever normal people do while I´m flying around. We know that this is not a cheap hobby if you want to enjoying on its full potential. We have now ED and four 3rd party devs that are providing us with a growing array of aircrafts with different levels and differents prices. Aviodev has done an exellent job in a very short time with their C-101, plus they are giving us two differents AFM and two different fully working cockpits in one pack, for one close priece. And after thinkin in all of this factors, I can not undestand how a 10$ difference in priece is such a horrible thing to you. Please don´t complain about this, it has no sense at all.

Don´t want to underestimate all the answers that are given to you,that are good ones, but, the simplest way to solve your problem is a good briefing, like in RL. OK, maybe not necessary if you do just casual fly, but if you take your flying seriously, before you enter the cockpit you should know every bit of information relevant to your flight, and the active runway and its heading is a important info, so make yourself a good briefing before every flight. Also it helps to focus your attention on the parameters of your flight, wich is good to just don´t get lost on confusing moments.

This is a really good stuff definitely. Very informaytive is the Q&A, thanks ED. The video of the F15 is really good, the improvements are huge compared with what we have now, the last minutes are quite impressive and it seems to me that is quite a bit done¡¡¡¡ Also the interview is very interesting as it looks like that a lot of work is been done under the deck and it will come to the surface very soon, so really exited to see how far ED can go. Personally I don´t care if we get DCS 2 next month or in two or three, whatever, what is more important for me is that when we get all this new features, they will work as designed. And from what I read, it seems ED is taking good care of this.

I was at the point of writting a first impressions thread myself, but after i read your post, there is no need, as you express very well the feelings i had in my few hours with this bird , so no need to make people read two times the same thing. And your writting is more powerful and useful that mine will be.... However, just to mention that Aviodev really did a big job here, the 3D model is gorgeous and the way the GPU is modeled is somethig the other devs must note, as is a hit on the inmerssion of the sim, for me at least. So I´m very pleased with this little jet, I will learn the systems and wait for the AFM to come to really enjoy this bird, and make her my choice to just fly around and relax in between the work load of combat missions. Great, nice to see that we are getting closer, it looks fantastic. I think on the first weeks after release I will just fly around to enjoy your work, and i´m sure that only fying around will be a big pleasure. And after, the Red Flag will come to blow our minds and improove our tacticals skill, mine at least.
