  1. So I played for a while now and I have some questions that I have been trying to find answer to, but can't seem to find a definite answer. I play only multiplayer, and mostly the Su-27 when I use a fighter. So is there any tips on going stealth and avoid radar detection (mostly players not SAMs)? I know there is visual stealth and radar stealth. Going really low altitude you can avoid detection by eye and also by some aircraft that may not be scanning downwards. But SAM still seems to find you? Mountains also help a bit and the RWR will not pick up anything. Does turning off your radar make you harder to see on the enemy radar and/or RWR? I read that the Su-27 has some kind of IRST mode for heat detection to avoid using the radar. Any stealth tips that work? My second issue is missile avoidance, I can never see them because the trail of smoke is long gone when they approach me. No matter if I pop 50 flares+chaffs, they usually get me if there is no mountain to hide behind. So my question is: Does putting your engine to idle make the missile harder to hit while popping countermeasures because of lower heat? Thanks.
  2. That doesn't matter. Nobody said the aircraft would be free. If they make interior and super real tanks that is a different story. But I highly doubt CA will be released with that. Maybe in 2-3 years if they are planning to make it more advanced.
  3. So why does it work for Rise of Flight?
  4. ORLY? So all these free to play companies are making a loss year after year? And every single MMO is going free to play the last couple of years. Yeah, your argument makes sense... You are missing the point. Free to play multiplayer is not the same as free to play singleplayer. How many singleplayer games can you mention that use the free to play model?
  5. DCS World is free yes, but it doesn't have multiplayer. CA doesn't interest me the slightest because it is too simple. I rather put the money on aircraft. But others may find it worthwhile. The model works for other games, why wouldn't it work for DCS? I highly doubt CA will be a big seller at the stage it is in right now. They should make it more advanced like the flying, and not as arcade-ish like it is right now. If you compare BF3 with CA they are at the same price point. From the gameplay I have seen they are very similar. And I'm pretty sure 9 out of 10 will purchase BF3.
  6. Why? Everyone who played DCS knows the barrier to entry is HUGE compared to any other flight simulator. Making CA free to play would get more people into the door, and more ground targets for pilots to shoot at (and work with) in multiplayer. The end result would mean more people who play, bigger brand awareness and the possibility to have them purchase an aircraft when they envy the players ruling the skies. I think there is a reason why soooooo many companies go free to play these days. And it seems to work as a marketing gimmick. Rise of Flight did the same. They have a couple of free aircraft and the rest you need to buy. However I do not like the "pay to win" model at all. Or the leveling tree/grind. More like a freemium/unlimited free trial model with limited resources. The free SU-25T is a great idea and I am thankful for that step in this direction. People who find the aircraft too hard to fly can play other roles. I would find it hard to believe that there will be so many people who buy CA only. Since they would probably go for Battlefield / World of Tanks instead if they want to use tanks only. I play Arma 2 a bit which focuses more on the infantry side than the aircraft. But there are rarely any aircraft available on the servers, so the fun part about flying above people and co-operating with them doesn't exist as much as I'd like. If DCS could provide this it would be tons of fun to have large scale multiplayer battles. Sure AI works aswell, but they don't have the intelligence of a human or the fun factor of co-operating with other people.
  7. I managed to get the videos to work by launching them directly and watching in my video player. But not ingame. Anyway. None of the videos have a startup procedure. Where can I find a guide for Su-25T?
  8. I'm trying to get DCS to work and everything I do just seem to fail. First off I downloaded DCS world, installed it etc. When I try to fly the SU-25T I manage to get the canopy closed, the engine started, taxi to runway, but it is so wobbly on takeoff I can't even lift it off the ground without crashing. Is this normal? When taxing should the entire cockpit shake a bit? I managed once to lift off, but then I couldn't retract the landing gears. I also have trouble moving flaps up and down, despite hitting the F button as the keybind says. Do I need to do something else to make this work? So I downloaded the "Training" and installed it thinking I must be missing something. When I run the training I just get "DCS has stopped working". So that is a no go. Thirdly I create a multiplayer account, but that says "Missing login..." so I can't even go in the multiplayer. Does the free version not have multiplayer? So many issues. I've been flying sims for several years but this is just really troublesome. If at least the training videos could work I can perhaps make progress.
