I like to join if there is still a free slot.
Prefer to fly a slick Huey, gunship is second choice.

There are a lot of thinks that can go wrong in an engine, as said and it is right. However most of those failures/damages will kill the engine in a short time.
For example you said you want a cylinder to be hit. That would kill the engine as it's very likely the piston can't move after that, meaning the con-rod will snap. That will finish the engine in no time. At 2500-3000 rpm the con-rod will damage the internals (don't know where the oil and coolant runs in a merlin) but normally you will loose all of your oil pressure and maybe coolant as well. The other cylinder (V engine) will most likely fail in the same way as both con-rods are connected at the same pin on the crankshaft. After that your engine will not windmill !
I repaired ship diesel engine for years after this kind of damages (no shooting involved of course) and believe me if something goes badly wrong in an engine, it takes a few seconds and it just stops.

I´m having the same issue !
For example, if I´m moving the sound sliders, I can only hear the engine (inside the cockpit) from the P51 when on full throttle.
Mi8 I can´t hear the turbines spool up. I´m missing many more !!!
In outside view all is okay.
Any fix for that ?

My experience is that after some auto-updater updates, my fps goes down. Some modules more then other.
If I do a all new install with the newest versions downloaded from the dcs site, it's all good again. World + Modules
For example p51 inside cockpit around 27 - 32 fps, after a new install 45 - 50 fps again.
Don't know why but for me that works. Could be the same with the Mi-8.
Cheers

Maybe I´m to stupid but I can´t get your mod to work. And well... I don´t understand what you mean with copy "DCS World" to the path of DCS World.
Also in your .rar is no .miz file. Or is it just me ?
I hope you can help me. I´m a bit confused ;)
Thanks

Thats a nice looking huey. I guess thats the coming slick version ? I hope so ! Looks very nice with the straight exhaust pipe and without the weapon hardpoints.
And by the way very nice flying !!!

Hi,
I noticed that the temp gauge is not reading the current temp. I was flying on 13000 ft trying to ice my rotor, started at sea level with temp 15°C. Up there I got "ENGINE ICING" on the caution panel, but the temp gauge was still at 15°C. Don´t know if this was reportet before ?

Allready flying

I don't know where the problem is ?
Install your steam BS1 version. Download BS2 upgrade (module for DCS World, latest version) and install.
Done
You can unistall BS1 after that again.

Hi there,
my first post and it´s a bug (or my fault)
I´ve got all DCS flying stuff, so I´m quiet used to dcs control setup.
I just downloaded FC3, went straight to options to asign axis. Just wanted to make a quick flight.
But I´m not able to asign any axis, not only for the FC3 planes also for the Shark, A10 or P51.
If I press "asign axis" nothing happens. I´m using TM warthog and saitek rudders.
I allready deleted the config folders for all planes.
Don´t know what to do !
I hope somebody can help
(When flying the Ka50 or the others my controls work just fine, I can also adjust the controlers in the option menu but if I "clear" one, I´m not able to asign it again)
Engine RPM(thrust) idle 57% on landing
in Resolved Bugs
Posted
I don´t know if this is a bug, but after touchdown, nose high (aerobraking), the engine RPM stays at 57%, until the front wheel will hit the ground. When the front hits the ground, the RPM will instantly drop to 49%.
I find the runway needed on landing very long and the aerobraking very weak. Could this be the reason ?
